POCO has officially entered the premium flagship arena with the launch of the POCO F8 Ultra and POCO F8 Pro, unveiled at a global event in Bali.
At the launch, POCO also officially announced its partnership with Bose, a global leader in audio, to bring Sound by Bose technology to the new F8 Series, intending to bring clear, immersive, and high-quality audio to its mobile offerings.
This significant launh marks a new era for the brand since 2018, signalling a major leap from “flagship killer” to “true flagship” — while still keeping prices aggressively competitive.
Ultra Performance Through Hardware-Software Synergy
Among the first smartphones powered by the Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5, POCO F8 Ultra is equipped with the upgraded VisionBoost D8 chipset, enabling every game to benefit from three key performance functions: Smart Frame Rate up to 120 FPS, Super Resolution up to 1.5K, and Game HDR. It also introduces AI Super Resolution4 through its new GEX module, specifically optimized for five popular titles, including Call of Duty: Mobile and Honkai: Star Rail.
At the software level, WildBoost Optimization fine-tunes CPU load distribution and GPU rendering, resulting in lower power consumption and less heat. To deliver a truly smooth gaming experience, POCO F8 Ultra also specifically optimizes 1% low frame rates. In a 2-hour FPS gaming test running at 120 FPS, POCO F8 Ultra demonstrated superior stability with an average frame rate of 119.65 FPS and a consistent 1% low frame rate of 89.71 FPS, while consuming only 3897.27 mW of power, outperforming its competitors.
LiquidCool Technology further keeps extended gaming stable with its 3D dual-channel, dual-layer IceLoop system. The first layer features a larger convex surface aligned with the mainboard, while the second layer has a smaller convex surface dedicated to the SoC, and the dual-loop design also accounts for heat from the camera module.
Rich & Deep Bass with Bose
Sound takes center stage in POCO F8 Ultra with a mobile audio system leveraging Sound by Bose Technology.
In collaboration with POCO's advanced engineering team, Bose helped develop a premium triple-speaker acoustic system for POCO F8 Ultra. By implementing a 2.1-channel architecture, this system overcomes the inherent constraints of compact smartphone design.
The result? For the first time, on a mobile audio device, users can experience rich bass, detailed sound, clear vocals, and an immersive soundstage, delivering a truly revolutionary mobile audio experience.
Presenting The Ultra Display
Setting a new standard for display technology, POCO F8 Ultra debuts its POCO HyperRGB display. Unlike the traditional 2K OLED display, this innovative display adopts a full RGB subpixel structure where red-green-blue subpixels are fully used. With 19.5% lower power consumption than the previous POCO F7 Ultra display, it delivers exceptional sub-pixel density and clarity, producing crisp, bright visuals comparable to 2K.
The display also features a global debut of M10 luminescent material, significantly improving luminous efficiency by 11.4% as well as reducing power consumption.
Plus, with support for all-day DC dimming and an ultra-low brightness of 1 nit, the display provides comfortable viewing even during extended use. Moreover the extra-large 6.9-inch screen and narrow bezels create an immersive experience across reading, video, and gaming.
Elevated Grade Photography
Bringing pro-level photography to match its premium performance, POCO F8 Ultra features a 50MP Light Fusion 950 sensor with OIS, delivering high dynamic range and low power consumption for longer shooting sessions and challenging lighting conditions.
It features a large 1/1.31" sensor with bigger pixels, resulting in a 43% increase in light sensitivity. Combined with an exceptional 1G+6P lens setup and a precise multi-coating process, the system reduces lens flare and glare, enhancing image purity and improving the rendering of fine details in both shadows and highlights.
On the F8 Ultra is also POCO's first-ever 50MP 5x periscope telephoto lens, offering 5x optical zoom, 10x in-sensor zoom, and up to 20X Ultra Zoom, ideal for capturing distant scenes to refined portraits, while also supporting close-ups from just 30cm. The 50MP ultra-wide camera complements the setup, producing clear results across sweeping landscapes and group scenes. For selfies, the 32MP front camera automatically switches to a 0.8X intelligent wide-angle mode, fitting more people or scenery into every shot.
Ultimate Battery Performance with Smart Charging
POCO F8 Ultra is equipped with a 6500mAh (typ) battery, the largest ever in POCO F Series, providing extended usage for all-day performance. This capacity is complemented by 100W HyperCharge, taking only 38 minutes to charge to 100% under top speed, and 50W wireless HyperCharge for added flexibility.
POCO F8 Ultra is also fortified with smart charging which is designed to control phone temperature in charging status, ensuring a smooth and stable experience.
Refined Style and Durability
Protected with POCO Shield Glass and IP68 dust and water resistance, the POCO F8 Ultra features a 6.9-inch display housed in a rounded-corner chassis. The device boasts ultra-narrow bezels, 1.5mm on three sides and 1.68mm on the bottom — the narrowest ever on a POCO phone.
Its star colourway is the Denim Blue variant which showcases a denim-esque design that's crafted with Xiaomi's third-generation nano-tech material for durability, dirt and wear resistance, and an eco-friendly touch.
Meanwhile, the Black variant features a glass fiber construction with a matte-gloss finish, offering both elegance and a secure grip.
