The much talked about OPPO Find X9 Pro has landed in Malaysia with one big bubble thought: is this camera cum smartphone worth it?
Priced at RM5,099, the Find X9 Pro is well-praised for its zoom photography. It boasts an impressive 200MP Hasselblad imaging that offers more than just pixels and clarity. In fact, it's a photography marvel that smartphones have now come this far, with the Find X9 Pro essentially changing the way us photographers treat camera equipment.
Enough talk though. Here's why we think the OPPO Find X9 Pro is spectacular in its field.

Star of the Show: That Hasselblad 200MP Telephoto
There's more to the Find X9 Pro's 200MP Hasselblad telephoto than what (the specs) meets the eyes.
OPPO has packed a massive 1/1.56-inch sensor behind its Hasselblad-certified lens with an ultra-fast f/2.1 aperture. In practical terms, OPPO says this means the phone can gather 140% more light compared to the Find X8 Pro's 3x telephoto. To regular camera lovers, this means being able to get a usable shot at dusk much easier rather than salvaging from a shot with some digital noise.
Another magic trick to the imaging system is OPPO's Active Optical Alignment process, which OPPO has gotten the lenses to match exactly with the sensor, boosting resolution by an additional 15%.
While we have no way (and guts) to prove whether that's the case underneath its chassis, we had the chance to use the Find X9 Pro to take some lovely shots on an OPPO Penang (Malaysia) trip. We achieved shots of more-than-adequate details when we maximised zoom-ins using just the base smartphone without its signature telephoto kit.

Multiple Zoom Levels With Full Clarity
Speaking of which, the Find X9 Pro offers lossless zoom up to 13.2x by intelligently cropping the 200MP sensor, allowing you to enjoy your shots even beyond screens and into physical prints.
Beyond that, OPPO's Super Zoom algorithm allows you to take shots all the way to 120x when paired with the optional Hasselblad Tekeconverter kit. While many argue the impracticality and rarity of using 120x zoom, this number is perfect for bird-watching and plane-catching lovers.
Meanwhile, the 10x and 30x is very much relevant today among most age group users, especially with our fellow event and concert-goers who wants the best, clearest zooms for close up shots of their favourite celebrities and entertainment figures.
For those interested, the Hasselblad Teleconverter Kit sits over the 70mm telephoto lens, and provides a 3.28x magnification for a 230mm equivalent focal length. Although very niche in use, this is perfect for wildlife or sports photography enthusiasts.

More Than Just Telephoto Brilliance
With a quad camera setup includes a 50MP ultra-wide, a 50MP main camera with OIS, the aforementioned 200MP telephoto with OIS, and a 2MP monochrome sensor for depth information, you get amazing and dramatic telephoto effects that are clear, whether it's landscape or portrait shots, resonating well with Hasselblad color science for that classic Hasselblad film-like imaging signature.
By the way, clear shots are achievable whether you are using auto or manual mode. Our favourite way to achieve the cinematic Hasselblad colour quality is with manual control. We did try the automatic high-resolution mode and it was perfect for the likes of night shots.

The LUMO Image Engine: Where the Magic Happens
Another trick behind OPPO Find X9's photography prowess is their brand-new LUMO Image Engine, which is essentially their suite of computational photography algorithms. OPPO has tweaked it to enhance clarity, dynamic range, and color science while keeping photos looking natural. This is in turn prevents imaging from looking too aggressively processed.

Video Capabilities for Content Creators
If you're into video work, the Find X9 Pro's main camera and 200MP telephoto support 4K 120fps Dolby Vision HDR video recording. For the pros, there's LOG recording with ACES certification, providing a flat, data-rich file that's perfect for professional color grading.

For photography enthusiasts who value optical excellence and versatility, the Find X9 Pro is an attractive option. At RM5,099 , the OPPO Find X9 Pro positions itself squarely in flagship territory. Plus, with its big 7500mAh battery, the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, and IP68/IP69 water resistance with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, and you've got a very compelling package.
Early shoppers can get the OPPO Find X9 Pro for just RM4,999 via pre-orders until 7 November 2025 only. To enjoy the promo or learn more, visit OPPO Malaysia, or purchase at OPPO Shopee and OPPO Lazada pages.
