HONOR has been recognized by international TIME Magazine for its groundbreaking technology, earning two spots in the TIME Best Inventions 2025 list — a rare achievement that also makes HONOR the only smartphone brand to receive multiple awards in TIME’s 2025 list.
The two awards celebrate HONOR’s On-Device AI Deepfake Detection and Silicon-Carbon Battery, both of which represent significant advances in AI-driven security and next-generation battery design.

Privacy & Security - HONOR On-device AI Deepfake Detection
This innovation addresses growing online threats by incorporating a built-in deepfake detector into its smartphones. The tool helps by scanning video calls on the device itself for telltale signs of deepfakes, like broken frames or unnatural facial movements, cutting lag and avoiding external data transmission.
Jianfa Sun, President of MagicOS at HONOR, stating this innovation “shifts the burden of detection from the user to the device, empowering everyone to navigate the complex AI era with confidence and security.” The On-device AI Deepfake Detection is a prime example of the brand’s focus on using AI to deliver meaningful security and protection for users.

Manufacturing & Materials - HONOR Silicon-Carbon Battery
This award recognizes HONOR’s breakthrough in battery technology, which overcomes the density limits of traditional lithium-ion, allowing for slimmer foldable devices with extended life.
TIME lauded the technical breakthrough, stating, “HONOR’s new battery design allows them to compact materials while extending battery life.” This latest Silicon-carbon Battery, featuring 25% silicon at just 2.3mm thick and boasting 6,100mAh of power, recently debuted in the HONOR Magic V5.
