ASUS Republic of Gamers Malaysia (ROG) has announced that pre-orders for the new ROG Xbox Ally series gaming handhelds will begin today, 3 October, exclusively from the ASUS e-Store, before wider pre-order availability from authorised ASUS resellers from 6 to 15 October.
The ROG Xbox Ally series offers the comfort and instant access of a console (like a Nintendo Switch or Xbox controller) with the sheer power and versatility of a high-end Windows 11 gaming PC.
Developed in partnership with Xbox, these handhelds give you the ability to play demanding, high-quality PC games, known as AAA titles, wherever you go. You don't have to choose between playing at your desk or relaxing on the sofa; the Ally series lets you do both, complete with a familiar, ergonomic controller design.
A Huge Engine Upgrade
The core of this new generation is a massive performance boost, thanks to different cutting-edge AMD processors on the two new models.
The ROG Xbox Ally X is powered by the new AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme Processor, delivering next-level speed for the most demanding titles. You could see up to a 30% performance increase in major games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. It offers up to twice the battery life when playing less intensive games, meaning you can game for much longer without hunting for a plug socket.
Meanwhile, the ROG Xbox Ally features the AMD Ryzen Z2 A Processor provides excellent performance and incredible energy efficiency for long gaming sessions. Even the standard Ally model sees up to 20% better performance in titles like Forza Horizon 5.
Beyond the hardware, both handhelds use clever software from AMD to make your games look and run smoother. Technologies like FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) and Radeon Super Resolution (RSR) essentially use smart scaling to make high-resolution graphics run perfectly on the smaller screen, while AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) helps increase frame rates by up to 60%, resulting in a much silkier, smoother gaming experience.
In a nod to future-proofing, the top-spec Ally X even includes an onboard AI-dedicated NPU chip in preparation for AI-enhanced features that are coming to the next generation of games.

Pre-orders begin at 8.15pm today, 3 October, exclusively on the ASUS e-Store, while pre-orders open up to authorised ASUS resellers from 6 to 15 October.

Here's where you can preorder the ROG Xbox Ally Series. Customers can also take advantage of a 20% PWP (Purchase with Purchase) promotion on accessories like the ROG Bulwark Dock DG300 and the ROG 65W Gaming Charger Dock to round out their gaming setup.
Both handhelds will be widely available from 17 October onwards.
