According to Matthew Ng, Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Malaysia Electronics, the company sees AI as the new user interface (UI), working in the background to make our lives easier. This vision is now fully realised with the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, showing how AI can be perfectly adapted to different types of devices.

A Human-Centred AI Companion

At its heart, Galaxy AI is designed to enhance human creativity and productivity. Features like Photo Assist, Transcript Assist, and Writing Assist bring what used to be complex desktop software tools to the palm of your hand, empowering anyone to create and edit content instantly.

Another popular feature is Gemini Live, which acts as a personal assistant by connecting your actions across different apps—like scheduling meetings and syncing calendars—to provide a more convenient and intelligent experience. On the new Galaxy Z Flip7, Gemini Live is integrated into the external FlexWindow, making it easy to interact with the AI without even opening the phone.

The Foldables as a Canvas for AI

Samsung sees its foldable phones as a perfect "design canvas" for AI. The company has found that users of the Galaxy Z series are using Galaxy AI features 74% of the time, a strong sign that the unique form factor allows for new ways AI features are used.

For the Galaxy Z Flip7, the compact design is ideal for one-handed use. The expanded FlexWindow now features Now Bar and Now Brief, letting you quickly preview your day or capture a photo without unfolding the device. 

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold7 has a larger display for productive work on-the-go. Features like Split View, Writing Assist, and Drawing Assist allow you to do deep research, work with multiple sources, and move AI-generated content.

A key part of Samsung's vision is for Galaxy AI to be a true companion. This adaptability is what sets Galaxy AI apart; it anticipates your needs and assists you naturally, making it feel less like a tool and more like a companion that adapts to your unique lifestyle.
