Though the foldable iPhone is almost unanimously rumoured to be released late next year, we still don't know how it will look like. We do know a few things (none of which are confirmed, of course) — that it'll unfold like a book, possible Touch ID power button with two rear cameras (a wide and an ultra-wide lens) and one front-facing camera.
However, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman had shed some light on how the the foldable iPhone might look like. And it'll probably resemble two iPhone Airs stuck together, cited in The Verge.
The iPhone Air is Apple's thinnest iPhone ever at 5.6mm. That means it should be pretty thin, but potentially thicker than a Pixel 10 Pro Fold at 10.8mm and Galazy Z Fold7 at 8.9mm.
"As for how the foldable iPhone will look, I am increasingly told that users should imagine two titanium iPhone Airs side-by-side. In other words, it’s going to be super thin and a design achievement," Gurman wrote.

Endgaget's Sam Rutherford predicts that the iPhone Air is actually a sleek preview of Apple's upcoming foldable, possibly modelling its foldable strategy after Samsung.
"The iPhone 17 Air is one half of Apple's upcoming foldable and if the rumours are correct, next year Apple is essentially going to smash two of them together while adding a hinge and a flexible screen. Voila, there's your iPhone Fold (or whatever Apple ends up calling it)," he said.
The iPhone Air is pretty durable, which is a great way to address the foldable category's long-standing challenges, including its hinge. Gurman says the iPhone fold will be made of titanium, just like the Air, which our very own ProductNation's Umar found to be pretty tough.

As for the release timeline, we should expect the foldable iPhone to launch next September, alongside the iPhone 18 lineup. Gurman also expects the foldable iPhone to cost more than the Pixel Fold, starting at at least $2,000 (approximately RM8,414), possibly more.
