The launch of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series is reportedly just four months away, and new leaks suggest some big changes are on the horizon.

Recent reports point to a shake-up of the Galaxy S lineup, with new model names and some surprising news about features like charging speed and camera technology. Here’s a breakdown of everything we know so far.

A Disappointing Decision on Charging

One of the most talked-about rumours comes from well-known tipster @UniverseIce (cited in SamMobile), who claims that Samsung will stick with 25W wired fast charging for the upcoming Galaxy S26 Pro and the new Galaxy S26 Edge. This is a let-down for many, as it's the same speed found on the current Galaxy S25 models. While a 25W charger can still get a phone to 50% battery in about 30 minutes, it falls behind many rivals.

This is especially surprising given that the flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumoured to get a significant upgrade to 60W fast charging. While the S26 Pro and S26 Edge are expected to have larger batteries: 4,300mAh and 4,200mAh respectively, the lack of a faster charging speed feels like a missed opportunity.

Major Camera and Design Upgrades

Based on leaked information, the Galaxy S26 series is getting some serious camera upgrades, especially for its top-tier models.

  • Galaxy S26 Ultra: This phone is rumoured to have a quad-camera system with a powerful 200MP main camera, a 12MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, a 50MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide camera.

  • Galaxy S26 Edge: This new model is expected to feature a 200MP main camera and a 50MP ultrawide camera.

  • Galaxy S26 Pro: The phone expected to replace the base model is rumoured to have a 50MP ultrawide camera.

Leaked renders also suggest some new design changes. The Galaxy S26 Edge is claimed to be incredibly thin at just 5.5mm, while a report from SmartPrix indicates the S26 Pro is 6.7mm thick and the S26 Ultra is 7.8mm. The new design for what could be the S26 Pro also shows a "pill-shaped bump" that houses the cameras.

Other Leaked Specifications

A report from Android Authority also compares the rumoured S26 Edge to the recently released iPhone Air, suggesting that the Samsung phone will have a bigger 6.7-inch display, better rear cameras (200MP+50MP), a thinner body, and a bigger 4,200mAh battery.

While these leaks paint a clear picture of what to expect, it's important to remember that they are based on unofficial information. We'll have to wait until Samsung officially unveils the Galaxy S26 family, which is expected to happen in January 2026.
