When we first got to hear about the Infinix GT 30 being released, we were perplexed: "What do you mean there's an upcoming Infinix GT 30? Didn't Infinix GT 30 Pro released just a few months ago?"
That's right, this is an interesting move made by Infinix as they release not one, but two gaming-focused smartphones within months of each other— GT 30 Pro in May 2025, and the regular GT 30 that jsut released on September 11, 2025. As expected from their namesake, the GT 30 is priced at an aggressive RM1,099 – a full RM200 cheaper than its Pro sibling.
So, if you're like us, you're probably wondering how different they are. Is the newer, cheaper GT 30 actually better than the Pro? Or does the GT 30 Pro justify its slight premiumity? We put both phones through their paces to find out what's really going on in Infinix's marketing intention.

Performance: Different Chipsets, Different Stories

Notably, both of these phones are priced differently due to their processor. The GT 30 Pro packs the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate chipset, which is said to offer a pro-level gaming experience, delivering a high 1.45 million AnTuTu score. This is flagship-adjacent performance that can handle pretty much anything you throw at it.
The GT 30, meanwhile, runs on the newer MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset, with a score of only 795,855. Yes, although it is a newer chipset, it scores lower in its overall performance. This chipset is primed to offer battery efficiency at best, and to run all applications as smoothly as possible.
Gaming Performance Breakdown:
- GT 30 Pro: More brute force, higher benchmark scores, better for demanding games likes Zenless Zone Zero.
- GT 30: Smarter power management, supports up to 120 FPS in popular games like PUBG Mobile and Mobile Legends, newer gaming optimizations.
In short, if you're going to run popular games in Malaysia such as ML:BB, PUBG Mobile and Free Fire, both phones will deliver smooth 90-120 FPS gameplay. But the Pro pulls ahead as it can keep up with more demanding titles and is also better future-proofed (we're looking at you, miHoYo).
Display: Nearly Identical Visual Experience

At a glance, both phones sport virtually identical display specs. You're getting the same 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with 144Hz refresh rate on both devices, along with 1.5K resolution (1224 x 2700 pixels) and up to 4500 nits peak brightness.
Both phones also feature Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, so your display should survive those inevitable drops during intense gaming sessions.
Now, there's a catch. To our eyes, both at 50% brightness, content on the GT 30 Pro actually looks sharper and more vibrant, whereas content on GT 30 looks more natural in colours. Of course, when it comes to gaming, frames looks snappier on the GT 30 Pro. But that's not to say this is a huge difference between the two. Content on the GT 30 also looks just as nice.
To us, there's little compromises if you go for the GT 30, as we actually prefer the more balanced palette it offers. But there's no denying that when it comes to gaming, you'll get more bang for your buck with the GT 30 Pro.
Gaming Features: The Great Equalizer

This is where Infinix deserves major props – they didn't cheap out on gaming features for the regular GT 30. Both phones feature the signature "GT Trigger" – hidden capacitive shoulder buttons that act as macros for gaming and camera use.
Both devices also come with high-frame-rate certifications across ten popular mobile games, meaning you're getting optimized performance whether you choose the Pro or the regular model.
The gaming experience is almost identical between both phones, which makes the GT 30's lower price even more attractive for serious mobile gamers.
Memory and Storage: Pro Takes the Lead

Here's where the Pro justifies some of its premium. The GT 30 Pro offers up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage with UFS 4.0, while the GT 30 tops out at 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
If you're someone who installs every new game that launches, keeps multiple games installed, or uses your phone for content creation beyond gaming, that extra storage and RAM on the Pro will come in handy. For most users, the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage size is more than sufficient for gaming and daily use.
Battery and Charging: Nearly Identical
Both phones pack the same 5500mAh battery, so you're looking at identical gaming endurance regardless of which model you choose. Infinix has prioritized consistent battery life across the GT 30 series, which is common sense and also essential – nothing kills the gaming vibe like a dead battery mid-match. In fact, in our tests, the GT 30 Pro and GT 30 were identical in their battery consumption when we played Asphalt Legends.
But if you start running more hungry and demanding games (from miHoYo), that's where you might see a difference in the battery consumption; GT 30 Pro would allow drainage of its battery to run better visuals whereas the GT 30 would cap its graphics performance.
Design and Build: Same DNA, Different Attitude

Both phones share Infinix's distinctive gaming-focused design language, complete with RGB lighting elements and aggressive styling that screams "gaming phone." The build quality feels solid on both devices, with the Pro measuring 75.8 x 163.7 x 7.99mm and weighing 188g.
Meanwhile, the GT 30 comes in Cyber Blue, Pulse Green, and Shadow Ash, giving you solid color options that should appeal to most gamers.
However, if you ask us, we have a preference for the GT 30, as it sports a metallic, detailed case that's amiss on the GT 30 Pro. It also feels more solid and premium for some reason. On the other hand,, the GT 30 Pro has a more matte finish, so it's actually more comfortable to hold for gaming.
The Verdict: Which To Buy?
Choose the GT 30 if:
- You want the best gaming bang for your buck
- 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is enough for your needs
- You primarily play popular mobile games (ML:BB, PUBG Mobile, Free Fire)
- You want the latest chipset with newer optimizations
- RM1,099 fits your budget better
- You want a more balanced smartphone (we kind of prefer the AI camera performance on the GT 30)
Choose the GT 30 Pro if:
- You want maximum future-proofing with more RAM and storage
- You play demanding games beyond the popular titles
- You use your phone for content creation or multitasking
- The extra RM200 isn't a budget concern
- You want the absolute best performance Infinix offers

Our Take: GT 30 For Balance, GT 30 Pro for Power
Well, one's very much geared towards gaming at best and the other offers a balanced, rounded smartphone experience.
It is why we actually prefer the regular GT 30. At RM1,099, you're getting 90% of the GT 30 Pro's gaming experience for 85% of the price. The gaming-specific features are identical, the display is the same, and the performance difference won't be noticeable in most popular games.
At the same time, GT 30 Pro isn't a bad phone. It's actually very snappy and handles fast-paced content nicely, plus it has the extra RAM and storage, which now feels like a commodity in the smartphone world as everyone goes toward a microSD-less world.
In an industry where many brands are focused on producing overall, balanced smartphones, it's sweet to see that Infinix is zealous in their persuit to perfect "gaming phones" of great value. No matter what, high-gaming potential smartrphones for under RM1,500 is a game-changer.
