Adobe Premiere Pro is finally launching a free, app version for all iPhones.
It's expected to launch on 30 September, with an Android version is coming later.
You can expect pro-level editing while editing from your phone. Adobe promises zero ads and watermarks, the only feature that requires an additional fee for is Adobe Firefly, Adobe's generative AI tool.
The Premiere app will feature a multi-track timeline, familiar to those who have used the desktop version, with support for an unlimited number of video, audio, and text layers.
The app can be used for all your usual video editing: trimming clips, overlaying audio and adding synchronized captions. You can also use Adobe's new voice-to-sound effects tool to generate any sound effect for your video. Apparently, if you want to add the sound of a bus horn, you can toggle on the record button and sound out "vroom". Adobe Firefly will produce cinematic sound effects for your project.
And you can even move projects from your phone to your desktop, if you've had enough of your thumbs getting in the way of your edits. You can also start projects on your phone, export directly to TikTok, YouTube Shorts, or Instagram with one tap.
