Design

It's not a surprise that the Galaxy S25 FE resembles the Galaxy S25 — which also looks very similar to the Galaxy S24 FE. If you lumped together these devices, it'll be quite difficult to tell them apart. Featuring a lightweight aluminium chassis paired with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, the Galaxy S25 FE retains that S-series sleekness and minimalism. And to that, we say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

But notably, there is a difference in size. The Galaxy S25 is more compact, with a slimmer and lightweight build at 7.2mm thick and just 162g. It features a 6.2-inch FHD+ display, making it easy to use with one hand. Stepping up in size, the Galaxy S25 FE measures at 7.4mm and 190g. It provides a larger 6.7-inch display — almost half an inch larger than the Galaxy S25 — which makes it more ideal for streaming and gaming.

Both phones feature the same FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a Super Smooth 120Hz refresh rate, however the FE's bigger size makes it a great choice for people who love watching videos or need more screen space for games.

Performance

When it comes to the processing power, there's a clear difference. The flagship Galaxy S25 has the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset and a generous 12GB of RAM. This is a top-of-the-line combination built for the most demanding tasks, like advanced gaming and heavy multitasking.

The Galaxy S25 FE, on the other hand, comes with the Exynos 2400 chipset and 8GB of RAM. While this is a step down, it’s still more than enough power for everyday use, from social media and streaming to running most apps without any issues.

Both phones offer up to 512GB of storage, so you don't have to worry about running out of space. Plus, the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 FE offers 7 years of software support including major and security updates.

Battery

Here's where the Galaxy S25 FE pulls ahead. Both phones have the same-sized 4,900mAh battery, but they have very different charging speeds.

The Galaxy S25 supports 25W wired fast charging, which is good, but the Galaxy S25 FE has a much faster 45W wired charging capability. The battery on the Galaxy S25 FE shoots up to 65% in just 30 minutes. Both phones also support 15W wireless charging.

Camera

The phones share the same core camera hardware. Both have a powerful 50MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide lens. The only real difference is the telephoto lens: the flagship Galaxy S25 has a 10MP telephoto camera, while the Galaxy S25 FE has an 8MP version, though both offer 3x optical zoom.

The 12MP selfie camera is identical on both devices, so your selfies will look crisp no matter the phone.

Price

The Galaxy S25 is the top-tier, mainstream model, and its pricing reflects that. It came with two storage variants:

  • Galaxy S25 256GB: RM3,999
  • Galaxy S25 512GB: RM4,599

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 FE is marketed as a more accessible and affordable device. There are two storage variants:

  • Samsung Galaxy S25 FE 128GB: RM3,099
  • Samsung Galaxy S25 FE 512GB: RM3,699

Choosing between the two comes down to your priorities. If you want the most powerful processor, a more compact size, and are willing to pay a premium for a sleeker design, the Galaxy S25 is the phone for you. However, if you're looking for a bigger screen, a much faster charging speed, a durable build, and are happy with slightly less power for a more affordable price, the Galaxy S25 FE makes a solid case for itself.
