We've all been there: you stumble upon a fascinating article or recipe online, but you don't have time to read it properly. Your options are to email it to yourself, open a dozen new tabs, or just bookmark the site and hope you remember it later.
Now, Rakuten Kobo has officially integrated with Instapaper, a popular "read it later" service, allowing you to enjoy your favourite web content directly on your e-reader. Instapaper is like a digital pocket for all the interesting articles you find online. It's an app that lets you save web pages to read later, even when you're offline.
It removes all the ads, pop-ups, and the sidebars, leaving you with a clean, simple version of the text. It transforms a messy web page into a readable document, perfect for a focused reading session.
Your Articles, on Your Kobo
The new integration brings the convenience of Instapaper to Kobo's distraction-free e-ink screen. Here's how it works:
-
When you find an article you want to save, you simply tap a button in your web browser or a sharing option on your phone to send it to Instapaper.
-
The next time you're on your Kobo, you'll find a new "My Articles" section under the "More" tab.
-
Tap on it, and all the content you've saved will appear, ready to read.
You can curl up on the sofa with your Kobo and read a long essay, an interesting recipe, or a piece of journalism without a single notification, flashing ad, or distracting link getting in your way. It’s a natural extension of what an e-reader does best: providing an immersive reading experience.
