We've all done it: you're listening to a great song and want to share it with a friend, so you tap the share button, copy the link, and then paste it into a different app like WhatsApp or Instagram. It's all a bit of a hassle.
But now, there is a direct messaging feature within the Spotify app. You can share content like music and podcasts with friends and family without ever leaving the app.

All Your Recommendations in One Place
Content shared with you through other platforms often gets buried and is hard to find later. With the new feature, all audio content you've shared or received will be neatly stored in a dedicated Messages inbox found under your profile picture.
The feature is built for 1:1 conversations and supports simple text messages and emoji reactions, making it feel just like a regular chat.

To keep things secure and friendly, you can only message people you've already interacted with on the platform, such as through Jams or Blends, or other users on your family plan.
Spotify says this new feature is designed to "complement" how we share content on other social platforms, not to replace them.
