Looking for a smartphone that won't make you cringe when you see your photography skills (or lack thereof) on display? There’s a new ZEISS Portrait Flagship camera phone to consider, and it’s the new vivo V60 to answer your prayers… and your Instagram feed.
Best of all, vivo V60 is a mid-range smartphone, available from just RM1,999 only, making camera-phones more budget-friendly for all!
What’s So Special About vivo V60?

Did you know? Depending on your photography interest, not all vivo phones actually come with the best set of ZEISS’s imaging set up for you.
Instead, 10X ZEISS Telephoto Zoom—which magnifies a subject (think the Dolly or Severance Elevator effect) were usually reserved for the higher grade X series instead. Telephoto lenses are the key to achieving beautiful portrait shots with magnificent Bokeh and blurriness for background.
Now, that’s about to change.
For the first time in the V Series, the device features the ZEISS Flagship Photography Camera which will actually include a 50 MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera with segment’s leading 10X telephoto zoom, as well as ZEISS Multifocal Portrait capabilities at 85mm and 100mm focal lengths. This is a stunning feat for a mid-range smartphone, making good-quality photography even more accessible.

10X ZEISS Telephoto Zoom Camera
To make things more exciting, the vivo V60’s telephoto lens isn’t just any ordinary one. It’s actually a SONY IMX 882, 50 MP ZEISS Telephoto Zoom camera, which is key to making sure vivo V60 is truly comfortable for everyone to use. At the same time, users will be able to marvel at the image quality the vivo V60 can capture.
Unlike standard telephoto cameras in older smartphones, the V60 uses a 10x MP ZEISS Telephoto Zoom. Images are projected by angled 90° mirrors that reflect each other, before light hits the camera element to be recorded. They are less bulky (like old SLR lenses) when in a smartphone, hence it makes for a lightweight and slim smartphone build overall.

Equally Classic & Attractive in Design
Coming in three colours, vivo V60 is available in Summer Blue, Mist Gray and Berry Purple; all of which are new colours.
This time around, Berry Purple is the iconic signature for the vivo V60. It’s a plum-mauve-ish colour that looks royalty yet captivating at the same time due to its dark, vibrant hue.
At a glance, vivo V60 in Berry Purple looks like the vivo V50’s iconic Ancora Red model. But they are actually different. In fact, Berry Purple exudes an elegant profile, befitting the vivo V60’s slim profile.
Speaking of which, vivo has achieved the phone’s slimness by designing the V60’s display with a 3D curved form, visually reducing the bezel’s size. This further elevates and complements the hand-feel of the phone with the vivo V60’s corner edges, designed with a 41° golden curvature. Psychologically, this sets a pleasant-looking phone that looks timeless and casual rather than being too tech-bro-ish.

10X ZEISS Telephoto Zoom: The Photos You can Achieve
vivo V60 features four cameras—a 50 MP selfie, 50 MP Main OIS, 50 MP ZEISS Super telephoto, and an 8MP ZEISS ultrawide camera—all co-developed with ZEISS. For those who love photography, you’ll also realise that the 10X ZEISS Telephoto Zoom is the same one on the iconic vivo X200 flagship.

That’s not all. If you’re like us, telephoto portrait shots look best when shot from a distance, as evident in the Dolly/Severance Zoom effect. Because the vivo V60 has 23mm, plus 85mm & 100mm multifocal portrait support, this makes the phone easy to achieve high-quality portrait shots.

And because it supports 100mm zoom, this means you can achieve 10x portrait zoom for stage/concert shots on the V60!

Here For The Long Run
For this V generation model, V60 has a screen that’s made of a new Diamond Shield Glass. This glass is made by Schott, a century-old German optical glass company. According to vivo, the V60’s drop performance has also improved by 37% compared to the previous generation.

When it comes to everyday wear and tear, V60 comes with IP68 and IP69 Dust & Water Resistant rating, offering water resistance up to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes, plus dust resistance. If the V60 falls, it has a handy one-tap water or dust ejection. Given our unpredictable Malaysian weather—sunny one minute, thunderstorm the next—this durability is more than practical.
On the V60 is also a 6,500mAh BlueVolt battery pack, supported by a 90W FlashCharge feature. As per vivo’s battery standard, the battery grade offers about at least 4 years of durable use before it might show any issues.
vivo’s V60 durability is also backed by its 12 GB + 12 GB extended RAM, and CPU Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor which is targeted for optimised performance in mid-range smartphones, including boost in AI generation and graphic power. In short, it’s a reliable phone to use daily.

Given the ever-growing demand for high-quality phones with great cameras and big battery life, the vivo V60, from RM1,999, is essentially a mid-range, camera-first smartphone that happens to excel at the basics too.
Although you won’t magically be the next best hotshot photographer, it's a great smartphone to help you achieve casual high-quality shots, minus the expensive camera equipment—something that’s hard to swallow for fresh photography enthusiasts.
