Google has always been at the forefront of AI-powered smartphones, and the new Pixel 10 is no exception.
From making calls to taking photos, here’s a look at the biggest AI upgrades.
Gemini Live
The familiar Gemini assistant has received a major upgrade with Gemini Live. It's now more conversational and responsive than ever before. You can share your phone's camera view with the assistant and ask for real-time guidance on a task. For example, you could show it a picture of your living room and ask for interior design ideas.
Google has also taught Gemini Live to be more "human" in its interactions. A new model will let you tell the assistant to speak more slowly if you're taking notes. It can even detect the tone of your voice — whether you sound excited or worried — and adjust its own response to match you emotionally.
Magic Cue
Imagine your phone knows what you need before you even have to ask. That’s the idea behind Magic Cue, a new feature that offers smart, contextual suggestions in real time.
For instance, if you're texting a friend about your flight details, Magic Cue can automatically find your flight itinerary and suggest sharing the information in your message with a single tap.
If you need to call the airline to make changes to your trip, it will even display your flight details on the screen for you.
Voice Translate
This feature uses the phone's on-device AI to translate your phone calls in real time. What's even more impressive is that it does its best to keep the tone and style of each person's voice, so you're not just hearing a robotic voice talking to you in your spoken language.
The feature supports a wide range of languages, including English, Spanish, German, Japanese, French, Italian, and more.
And if you miss a call, the new Take a Message feature will provide a real-time transcript of the voicemail and use AI to figure out what you need to do next, like calling the person back or sending a message.
AI In Your Camera
The Pixel 10's camera system is powered by a new suite of AI tools that make it simple for anyone to take great photos.

Best Take & Add Me: The AI can find and combine similar photos of a group so that everyone in the shot looks their best.

Camera Coach: For those who feel lost when taking photos, the AI can see what your camera is seeing and give you real-time tips on the best angles, lighting, and composition for your shot.

Edit by Talking: Editing photos is now as simple as a conversation. You can talk or type to Google Photos and ask it to make changes.
Want to remove a person in the background? Just ask, and it will get the job done. You can also ask it to "make it better," and the AI will automatically apply a series of improvements to the image.
