Qualcomm has just revealed their new Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 as a big step for upper-mid phones, clocking higher speeds in CPU, GPU, and AI performance vs 7 Gen 3—plus Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 with Channel Sounding, and camera upgrades baked into a new triple-ISP.
This new gen also adds Dual-SIM Dual-Active (DSDA) and building-wide audio via XPAN; features that are usually in pricier flagships. In short, this generation provides smoother daily use, sharper photos, stronger connectivity—without flagship prices.
What to expect

With the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, expect quicker app launches and steadier frame pacing in popular games. This gen brings with it a boost of 27% higher in CPU, 30% in GPU, and a 65% jump in AI performance when against 7 Gen 3. It also supports LPDDR5x up to 4200 MHz and UFS 4.0—specs that trickle down premium snappiness to the mid-range.
Qualcomm’s AI Engine now handles on-device Stable Diffusion 1.5, LLM assistants, real-time translation and low-latency voice tasks—privacy-friendly because it doesn’t always hit the cloud. A fused AI accelerator (tensor/vector/scalar) plus an always-on Sensing Hub drives the +65% AI uplift.
Elite Gaming features you can also expect are Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0 and Adaptive Game Configuration that auto-tune CPU/GPU for heavy scenes. Meanwhile there's also support for Game Super Resolution sharpens visuals and Quick Touch trims input latency. In fact, OEMs had quoted ~26% gaming efficiency gains in early phones using 7 Gen 4.
Other features including support for Wi-Fi 7, multi-sim setups and support up to 200 MP, 4K60 HDR video (with 64 MP stills simultaneously).
