Since its inception in 2016, the Samsung Good Lock app has been quietly gaining traction for its powerful customization suite. Yet, it’s not an app that most Malaysian Galaxy users fully utilise.
What is Good Lock?
Ever felt overwhelmed by your phone’s customisation features? Many Malaysians are already familiar with basic Android customization, but Good Lock takes this to a professional level without the risks associated with third-party apps or rooting your device.
Essentially, Good Lock helps you maximize your apps utilisation without brain-fogging you by offering a selection of the best features that elevates your Galaxy Z foldable upgrades.
How it works is that on Good Lock, you can enable or disable the right plugins without messing up any algorithms and such. It offers you full control over how your phone should look. When Good Lock is enabled on the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7, you get to uncover more aesthetic ways to enjoy their cover screens by using the LockStar plugin.
How to Customise Galaxy Z Foldable Phones with Good Lock
Download Good Lock on the native Galaxy Store app. After launching, you can choose your preferred plug-ins to activate. Our recommendation for customising the cover screen is the MultiStar plug in, then choose the I *Heart* Galaxy Foldable option.
Choose Cover Launcher Widget to Add Your Favourite Apps.
Here, you’ll be able to choose which of your favourite apps to showcase, which might not show on the Recommended Apps view, so make sure you enable the All Apps view to start with. Note that although not all apps are fully optimised to show up well on the cover screen yet, there are already plenty of popular apps you can fully use on the cover screen of either Galaxy Z Fold7 or Flip7, such as games like Call of Duty, Whatsapp and Youtube.
Customise What Shows On Your Locked Screen (LockStar)
Dislike unlocking your phone to use your SamsungPay or Recording app? Customisation aside, you can enable LockStar and enjoy custom clocks, shortcuts to your favorite apps like Touch 'n Go eWallet or Grab, and personalized widgets without needing to unlock your phone completely.
Add Some Charm By Resizing Your Apps (HomeUp)
Among the many Good Lock enhancements, Home Up stands out as it offers you greater design flexibility by significantly expanding home screen customization capabilities. Here you can freely resize and and specifically choose where to place your apps. With a cool wallpaper, you can truly enjoy the full customisation on your Galaxy Z devices.
Good Lock does not just enhance aesthetics through customisation, but also provides a variety of practical functions and convenience.
Boosted Multitasking (MultiStar)
Are you a savvy, heavy multitasker that loves utilising a combination of apps to make use of your phone’s efficiency? Make sure you fully utilise the MultiStar plugin and you can launch multiple apps simultaneously to create custom app pairs that launch together.

Customize your phone's navigation to match how you actually use it. Create gesture shortcuts for apps you use frequently, or modify button layouts for easier one-handed use during your commute on the LRT or while walking through shopping malls.
Advanced Audio Controls (SoundAssistant)

The Good Lock app is compatible with all Samsung Galaxy devices. But it shines the best when used on the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 due to their unique physical features not found on regular candybar phones, representing the cutting edge of Samsung's foldable technology.
