The Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) has put e-hailing companies Aist Malaysia Sdn Bhd (MAXIM) and ID Applications Sdn Bhd (InDrive) under a three-month monitoring period, starting today, 24 July.
On 24 April, MAXIM and inDrive were ordered to cease operations, effective 24 July 2025, after it was found that there was non-compliance, particularly regarding the requirement for a valid E-Hailing Vehicle Permits (EVPs).
Following this, both companies submitted appeals to the Transport Ministry and were required to undertake corrective measures before 24 July to continue their services.
Satisfactory Corrective Measures
A joint assessment by APAD and the Road Transport Department (JPJ) found that both companies' corrective measures have met expectations. According to Malay Mail, a random inspection conducted by APAD on 11 July confirmed that all drivers reviewed from both platforms held valid EVPs.
APAD shared that representatives of both companies are required to attend monthly sessions at APAD headquarters throughout the monitoring period to ensure the sustained commitment of both operators.
“The frequency of monthly attendance is subject to APAD’s discretion based on monitoring needs and current issues. These sessions are intended to facilitate real-time monitoring, including random checks on drivers via the InDrive and Maxim applications,” APAD said.
Although MAXIM and InDrive have been permitted to continue operations, they will remain under close scrutiny throughout the monitoring period. Any breach of service conditions may result in enforcement under Section 12A(5) of the Land Public Transport Act 2010 [Act 715].
