Apple's iPad Pro is set for another upgrade later this year, and a Bloomberg report suggest a straightforward to a recent user dilemma: the front-facing camera placement.
According to Bloomberg writer Mark Gurman, the upcoming iPad Pro with the M5 chip is expected to feature dual front-facing cameras.
Apple Said: Here You Go, Two Cameras
When the iPad Pro received its major design overhaul and OLED display in 2024 (with the M4 chip), the front camera was moved to the landscape edge.
While this was welcomed by users who primarily use their iPads horizontally for video calls, it made Face ID unlocking and portrait-oriented selfies a tad bit difficult.

So, instead of moving the camera back to its old spot and inconveniencing those who've grown accustomed to the landscape placement, they're simply adding a second front-facing camera where the portrait one used to be. This way, you can use either camera to centre the subject for selfies or FaceTime calls, no matter how you hold the new iPad Pro.
What Else Is Expected From The New iPad Pro?
While the 2024 iPad Pro brought significant changes like an M4 processor and a new tandem OLED screen, the 2025 models aren't expected to feature major external design overhauls. MacRumors said they'll retain the same slimmed-down chassis and stunning OLED display.
The biggest internal upgrade will be the powerful Apple M5 chip. This next-generation silicon is anticipated to bring notable improvements in performance and even better power efficiency.
The 2025 iPad Pro is expected to carry over other notable features from its predecessor, including the nano-texture display coating, which is for reduced glare. Following its launch, we might also see updates to the entry-level iPad and iPad Air models early next year, with the latter potentially receiving an upgrade to the Apple M4 chip.
Beyond the iPad Pro, Apple is reportedly looking to upgrade its Vision Pro, MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac lines with these next-gen M-series chips, Engadeget reported.
