The best-selling dystopian video game, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, is finally coming to Macs.
Game developer CD PROJEKT RED has announced the open-world, role-playing game will be available through the Mac App Store, GOG.com, Steam, and Epic Games Store, starting Thursday, 17 July.
The Game's Been Optimised For Apple Silicon Models
You'll need an M-series Mac to play this game, but Apple has confirmed it'll work on computers all the way back to the M1 — provided you have 16GB of RAM.
If you own recent Mac releases with M4 and M3 family of chips, including the new iMac, MacBook Air, Mac mini, MacBook Pro, and Mac Studio with M3 Ultra, you can enjoy the game to its fullest potential.

Taking full advantage of Apple silicon and Apple Metal technology, players can experience the grudgy setting of Night City and advanced features such as ray tracing, frame generation, HDR tuned for Apple's flat-panel monitor, XDR displays, and more.
Apple also encourages players to plug themselves in with AirPods, as the game supports spatial audio with head tracking features.
The game also supports cross-progression across all platforms, so if you've played the game on a different device, you can pick up where you left off on the Mac without losing your progress.
Set in the fictional metropolis, Night City, players control V, a cyber-enhanced mercenary ready to do whatever necessary to make a name for themselves in a city obssessed with power, glamour, and body modifications.

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition features the central game, which stars Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand, and the critically-acclaimed, spy-thriller expansion Phantom Liberty, with Idris Elba as Solomon Reed.
The game also contains every update released so far and it is free to download for players who already own a copy on other storefronts like Steam.
