HONOR Malaysia has officially launched the Magic V5, currently as the world’s slimmest foldable smartphone at 8.8 mm, maintaining its RM6,999 price tag for the third consecutive year compared to its predecessors in the Magic line yet delivering major hardware and software enhancements.
Pre-order promos are now available from 15–24 July, where early buyers will receive RM3,497 worth of free gifts—including a premium Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 9 speaker—and worry-free service plans. Instalment plans are also available with trade-in rebates of up to RM400 and a 0%, 24-month installment plan.
Notably, the HONOR Magic V5 measures with an incredibly slim 4.1mm profile when unfolded, comparable to the thickness of a Malaysian 50-cent coin yet weighs just 217g, pushing a new industry benchmark for foldable smartphone design. Magic V5 is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, and offers a viewing experience with a 7.95-inch main screen. With that said, both its rear and main screen are rated 4,320Hz PWM Dimming, meant to aid in reducing eye strain and fatigue during extended screen time.
HONOR Magic V5 has a 5820mAh HONOR Silicon-Carbon Battery, the thinnest high-capacity cell in its segment, and integration of HONOR’s E2 Power Enhanced Chip provides an extended battery use as well as optimise thermal performance. This is an upgrade from its predecessor despite having a slimmer profile.
Another star-quality is the HONOR Magic V5's camera technology that promises professional-grade photography. This foldable generation holds a powerful 64MP Periscope Telephoto Camera with 100x zoom - the best telephoto camera in any foldable, alongside a 50MP Main Camera, 50MP Ultra-Wide Camera, and a 20MP Selfie Camera. HONOR has aimed for it to deliver clarity, vibrance, and incredible detail in every shot.
The HONOR Magic V5 has also been engineered for durability, its body casing being crafted from Aerospace Special Fiber, whereas the outer screen is protected by an upgraded Anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield, meant to resist scratches from sharp objects like keys and withstanding drops onto hard surfaces.
Moreover, the hinge has been reinforced to endure up to 500,000 folding cycles, equivalent to 100 folds per day and lasting up to 13 years. Finally, with IP58 and IP59 ratings, the HONOR Magic V5 also offers robust water and dust resistance.
