Design

The Galaxy Z Flip7 has a premium, slimmer build. It boasts a new Armor FlexHinge for smoother folding and an impressive 4.1-inch Super AMOLED FlexWindow for the cover screen. It's the largest ever in any Flip series with minimal 1.25mm bezels.

Both its main 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and the FlexWindow reach 2,600 nits peak brightness and a super responsive 120Hz refresh rate.

You can also see the Z Flip7 screen even when you're standing under direct sunlight, thanks to the Vision Booster feature. The Flip7 measures a mere 13.7mm thick when folded and weighs 188g.

In contrast, the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE mirrors the design of the previous Z Flip6, making it slightly thicker at 14.9mm when folded and marginally heavier at 187g. Its main display is a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X, and the cover screen is a smaller 3.4-inch Super AMOLED.

Performance and Battery

The Galaxy Z Flip7 is powered by a custom 3nm Exynos 2500 processor, offering significant upgrades in CPU, GPU, and NPU capabilities, along with 12GB of RAM and storage options up to 512GB.

It features the largest battery in the Flip series with 4,300mAh, providing up to 31 hours of video playback. Samsung DeX support also transforms it into a portable workstation by connecting the device to a larger screen.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 runs on a Exynos 2500 chipset, which offers improvements over the Z Flip7 FE's Exynos 2400, in terms of both performance and power efficiency. The Z Flip7 FE also scales back on RAM and storage, offering 8GB RAM with either 128GB or 256GB ROM.

Its battery is slightly smaller at 4,000mAh, mirroring the Flip6's capacity. Both models support 25W wired charging (50% in 30 mins) and Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 with Wireless PowerShare.

Camera

Both the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE feature an identical dual rear camera setup: a 50MP Wide lens with OIS and a 12MP Ultra-Wide lens, complemented by a 10MP front camera. Both foldables have FlexCam for hands-free selfies.

However, the Flip7 emerges with a few extras to its camera system. Samsung's ProVisual Engine and 10-bit HDR let you and capture a subject with clarity and richness even from a distance. Plus, the Flip7 FlexWindow updates for real-time filters and zoom for fun selfies without needing to flip open the phone.

Durability

Both the Galaxy Z Flip7 and the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE have an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and an Armor Aluminum frame to make a durable build.

Software wise, both devices are also secured by Samsung Knox and Knox Vault to offer protections for on-device AI use.

Price and Availability

Pre-orders for the new Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE have already started and expected to last until 31 July 2025, with general availability set to begin on 1 August 2025.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 maintains the same price as its predecessor, ranging from RM4,999 to RM5,599 for the 12+256GB and 12+512GB variants, respectively.

Samsung is offering the Z Flip7 in Blue Shadow, Jet Black, and Coral Red, while a Mint colour variant will be sold exclusively online.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE makes its debut in elegant colours at a more affordable price point. It'll be available in Black and White, starting at RM3,999 for the 8GB+128GB variant and RM4,299 for the 8GB+256GB version.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 is Samsung's premium offering, emphasizing a slimmer design, a significantly larger and brighter cover screen, a bigger battery, and more storage space. But if you're looking to try out all the great things of a flip phone without the heartaching price tag, you can try out Galaxy Z Flip7 FE. The compromises are mainly in the cover screen size, battery capacity, RAM, and storage.
