Key Highlights of Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025 July

Introductory Speech by TM Roh

The President & Head of Mobile eXperience at Samsung Electronics gave his welcome speech where he briefly touched on the history of the Samsung Galaxy Z series. Previous users had brought about insights as to how Samsung should proceed to enhance this new wave of Galaxy Z series. With that, TM Roh emphasies that the Galaxy Z 7 series will be ultra-portable without compromising on power, challenging the boundaries that a foldable phone could reach in both design and engineering.

One UI 8 Introduction

The new user interface is designed with an ambient AI experience in mind. The series now has multimodal AI, whereby AI can interact intelligently with text, audio and visual all at once. This UI offers high personalisation with appropriate safety & security measures. This UI is based on Google's Android 16, and is the first smartphone series to have the OS.

For those who love advanced AI and tech features; Samsung Galaxy Z series will also come with 6 months of Google AI Pro for free!

Galaxy AI & One UI 8.0

All devices will come with Samsung's latest OS One UI 8.0, based off Android 16.

You'll be able to enjoy several features on the new Galaxy Z series such as Photo Assist, where you can activate side-by-side image editing and view the original as well. There's also the chance to enjoy advanced generative editing for complex work with Suggest Erase. Not only that, but Audio Eraser—previously reserved for video editing—now works on video player, voice recorder, for Samsung Notes and other transcription actions.

Particularly for Galaxy Z Flip7, you'll be able to use Gemini Live on the FlexWindow when the phone is closed. And say you have something to ask Gemini Live right away, you can also use it on the Flip7's FlexCam in the FlexWindow, thanks to Samsung making strides in Multimodal AI within their Galaxy devices.

With that, you can also now access NowBar and Now Brief on the Galaxy Z Flip7's FlexWindow, as well as on the Galaxy Watch8 series!

And like the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, this round of Galaxy Z series will also come with seven years of security updates and up to seven years of OS updates, so that you can use your devices for longer.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7

This year, there are some decent hardware upgrades. As one of the biggest in a foldable smartphone, the screen on the Galaxy Z Fold7 is 8-inch in size, is a dynamic AMOLED 2x display panel, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Victus Glass 2.

The screen of the Galaxy Z Fold7 also has better adhesive and even a titanium layering to enhance the durability as well as reduce rapid bubbling and withstand better folding. It also has a stronger Armor FlexHinge that efficiently disperse stress and protect display while the screen folds.

Battery-wise, Galaxy Z Fold7 has a 4,400mAh battery that is capable of providing 24 hours video playback. When it comes to camera, there's a shiny 200MP lens on triple setup of the Galaxy Z Fold7, which is a first in the foldable smartphone industry.

Like the Snapdragon® 8 Elite for Galaxy in the Galaxy S25 series, on the Galaxy Z Fold7 it will enjoy a boost in performance, specifically NPU by 41% more, CPU by 38% and GPU by 26%. This grants the Galaxy Z Fold 7 better overall performance and AI processing.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7

Galaxy Z Flip7 also gets a nice boost in this generation. Compared to Flip6, the Galaxy Z Flip7 has a bigger and more practical FlexWindow (rear screen). It is bigger now at 4.1-inch, and has room for you to take control such Gemini Live use, camera zoom and more. The main screen unfolds to a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display panel.

Like its bigger sibling, Galaxy Z Flip7 also has same Armour Flex Hinge that brings enhanced durability from dust damage and such. Galaxy Z Flip7 is also IP48 certified, with better waterproofing and fortified by an ultra-high density armour.

In terms of camera, it gets a dual setup of 50MP + 12MP for the main camera, and a 10MP selfie cam.

For day-to-day operations, powering the Flip7 is the flagship Samsung Exynos 2500 (3nm) processor which excels in overall CPU processing, AI generation and gaming performance. The batter has also been bumped up to 4,300mAh, offering a 31-hour video-playback battery life.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE

There's a new kid in the Galaxy Z series — the Galaxy Flip FE (fan edition). This model is meant to be a simpler (albeit heavier) version of the flagship Flip model, targeted at those who wants to explore their first foldable smartphone at a more affordable price range.

This first Galaxy Z Flip FE has the same size as the older Flip6 model. It also has Flip6's 50MP main camera, perfected with ProVisual Engine for imaging, and IP48 certification for water and dust protection.

Samsung Galaxy Watch8 Series

In general, there is an improved Bioactive sensor on the Watch8 now, which offers more advanced tracking. Powered by a 3nm AP chipset, the Watch7 series is also 50% brighter with 3,000 nits peak in its screen, with a larger battery and dual GPS  system for precise tracking.

Galaxy Watch8 series is crafted with a better Cushion Design and a Dynamic Lug system. The result is a snug fit with improved precision in tracking accuracy. What's also new is that the Galaxy Watch7 series now comes with double the storage at 64GB  than previous generation with only 32GB.

Already capable of analysing sleep, vascular load, and running performance, Watch8 series can also now measure your carotenoid levels.
