The upcoming foldable phone to look forward to is HONOR Magic V5, set to arrive and launch in Malaysia as the world' slimmest foldable at just 8.8 mm—on 15 July 2025.
HONOR will be livestreaming the reveal at 2 PM on HONOR Malaysia’s Facebook. Building on the Magic V3’s foundation, Magic V5 is created as an ultra-slim foldable with great portability and flagship-level power, imaging, and durability.
Aside from its design, HONOR Magic V5 is notable for its sizeable 5,820 mAh battery & 64 MP periscope zoom camera — two unique features to the foldable market thusfar.

Enjoy All-day Streaming & Intense Gaming
For its compact and slim design, the HONOR Magic V5 houses the industry-leading 5820mAh HONOR Silicon-Carbon Battery, which is a big pack compared to competitors. This cutting-edge battery is notable for its very slim design comparable to a business card even. Yet, it is capable of delivering sufficient battery for the whole day, despite the Magic V5's big screen.
On the HONOR Magic V5, expect a 66W Wired HONOR SuperCharge, which you'll be able to charge the HONOR V5 to full in just 40 minutes. For those of you who prefer it, HONOR Magic V5 also offers 50W wireless charging for added convenience.
Battery is also fortified by HONOR's Power Enhanced Chip HONOR E2, an energy-saving mechanism. With this, HONOR says the Magiv V5 should be able to deliver power for all-day video streaming, high-graphics mobile gaming and multitasking overall.
64MP Periscope Lens with 100x Zoom
Expect powerful camera features as compared to the previous generations & competitors on the HONOR Magic V5.
The Magic V5 will host a remarkable 64MP Periscope Telephoto Camera that offers up to 100X digital zoom, which HONOR says is the best tele-lens the foldable market. Magic V5 will also come with new AI Imaging tools such as AI Super Zoom and AI Enhanced Portrait.
The HONOR Magic V5 will utilise AI Super Zoom, which enables up to 100X zoom while maintaining outstanding image sharpness and clarity, even when shooting from great distances, thanks to intelligent enhancements. With it, enjoy capturing the intricate details of the top of the KLCC Twin Towers or other distant landmarks, where every shot is vivid, clear, and richly detailed.
If you're a photography enthusiast, make sure to try out the AI Enhanced Portrait feature that is capable of capturing close-up portraits at various focal lengths, allowing the AI to quickly analyze and optimize detail, clarity, and background blur. With the Magic V5, HONOR has promised studio-quality portraits of family, children, and friends without needing a professional photographer.
You'll also be able to leverage on AI Editing tools including AI Cutout, AI Eraser, AI Outpainting, and AI Upscale for all of your post-editing needs.
Durability in a Slim Design

Compared to the previous generation, HONOR has reinforced the Magic V5’s slim displays with a Non-Newtonian Fluid inner-screen protection and an anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield outer glass. It's also supported with a carbon-fiber back and Aerospace-grade hinge certified for 500,000 folds, which is equivalent to 100 folds per day for up to 13 years.
Amusingly, HONOR has demonstrated the Magic V5's powerful Super Steel Hinge in a recent media pre-briefing event where a HONOR Magic V5 successfully hang a 35kg dumbbell. Finally, Magic V5 is also protected and awarded IP58/59 dust-water resistance as well as Foreign Object Detection guard against sand particles.
Together, these features make the entire foldable body highly resistant to scratches from keys and other sharp objects, giving users true peace of mind.
