Samsung has been rolled out its One UI 7 update, which includes a variety of upgraded security tools.
These new features are now expanding beyond the latest Galaxy S25 series to many more Galaxy smartphones throughout the year.
Theft Protection
This set of features safeguards your data, particularly if a thief gains access to your phone and somehow knows your PIN.
This includes Theft Detection Lock, which uses smart technology like machine learning to sense sudden snatching motions, instantly locking the screen to prevent unauthorised access.
The Offline Device Lock automatically locks your screen if the device is disconnected from the network for too long. Thieves often try to take phones offline to prevent tracking, so even if they remove your SIM card or turn off Wi-Fi, your data stays protected.
Furthermore, Remote Lock lets you lock your device even if your phone is already gone. Using just your phone number and a quick verification step, itĀ helps you get back control of your accounts and explore ways to get it back.

Anti-Robbery Features
These are designed for tougher scenarios, during occassions where your PIN might have been seen or forced out of you.
Identity Check demands biometric authentication for changes to sensitive security settings when in unfamiliar locations. With this feature, you can also add Safe Places as exceptions for biometric authentication. This could be your home or workplace.
Meanwhile, Security Delay provides a crucial one-hour waiting period if someone attempts to reset your biometric data (like deleting your fingerprint or face scan). During this time, you can remotely lock your stolen phone from another device before unauthorised access occurs.
How To Activate These Features
Head to Settings > Security & Privacy > Lost Device Protection. You can find these features under "Theft Protection".
These updated features are rolling out to many existing flagship devices, including the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold6, Z Flip6, Z Fold5, Z Flip 5, and the S23 and S22 series, with more Galaxy smartphones to follow.
