Screen & Design

The realme GT 7T comes with a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution (2800x1280), which provides vibrant colors and sharp visuals for a premium viewing experience. And with a 120Hz refresh rate, it ensures smooth scrolling, whether you're gaming, browsing, or watching videos.

The display reaches a peak brightness of 1800 nits, making it bright and readable enough even in direct sunlight.

Performance & Battery

realme GT 7T is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 9400+ which focuses its prowess on AI and imaging, raytraced mobile graphics, higher power efficiency, better seamless user experience on Android and faster single as well as multicore performance.

Evident to its raw power is its AnTuTu score which is an impressive 2.45 million points, showcasing the GT 7T's strong performance for daily usage and gaming without significant lag or overheating.

With a 7000mAh battery, GT 7T offers an impressive amount of power, easily lasting a full day with moderate usage. Additionally, the 120W SUPERVOOC fast charging allows you to charge the phone from 0% to 100% in just 40 minutes, making it one of the fastest-charging phones in its class.

Notably, realme GT 7T is also designed with a 7700mm² IceSense Graphene Cooling System to keep it cool even during extended gaming or heavy usage.

UI, OS & AI

realme GT 7T comes onboard with Android 15, customized with Realme UI 6.0. On the realme GT 7T you'll get to enjoy a clean and smooth user interface that offers a lot of customization options. Overall, it's quite user-friendly while still looking sleek and modern.

With realme UI 6.0, you'll get features like Dark Mode, Game Space (for optimizing gaming performance), and Flex Drop for multitasking. There's also Battery Optimization to help manage power consumption efficiently.

Not only that, you'll get 'NEXT AI' features on the GT 7T as well, like AI translation and Google Gemini.

Camera

On the GT 7T is a primary 50MP camera sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), which works to capture detailed shots. Alongside is also an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, perfect for capturing landscapes and group shots.

Meanwhile, there's a front 32MP selfie camera for high-quality self-portraits. What's promised are vivid colors and excellent detail.

The camera system also comes with photography features like Night Mode, AI-enhanced photography, and Ultra HD mode for highly detailed shots. It can also record 4K videos at 30fps, making it capable of vlogging and content creation as well.

What We Like

Thermal control

realme GT 7T feels unique to the touch in the sense that it is cooling to handle. While it's not an ice-cold smartphone, but its IceGraphene body makes gaming feel like a breeze. realme had said that this special material regulates heat well, that it dissipates trapped heat fast so the components of the phone would stay cool quickly as well.

In our tests, our 19 minutes play on Call of Duty started at 30 degrees celsius cool, and ended at 32 degrees celsius. In comparison several other phones would have reached above 35 degrees with a similar duration.

Visuals quality

Aside from thermal control, the phone deliver top-tier graphics performance and efficiency, even for fast paced games. Our gamer tester enjoyed the high-quality visuals and frame rates which proves the GT 7T as great value in a gamer's asset. Not to mention, the bright, vibrant, and smooth 120Hz AMOLED makes its screen versatile for entertainment consumption wherever.

Long software support

Many phones of this price range now promise at least 3 to 4 years of software OS support. But the GT 7T promised 6 years worth, which is long and is usually a number offered to higher end models and brands. This promise also stands as a quality-assurance and offers buyer's confidence. Longer software/OS support means long-term seamless use of UI & UX.

What We Dislike

Limited memory

GT 7T is available with up to 256GB + 12GB RAM specs, the former which seems limiting especially since the GT 7T does not have any card slot memory. And the fact that GT 7T is poised as a gamer phone might just naturally position itself as a secondary phone for pure entertainment as you might not have enough memory for other personal apps and data.

Those who are looking to have a realme GT 7 series phone as a main phone may want to seek its other bigger siblings — GT 7 and GT 7 Dream Edition — which holds up to 512GB storage and with 16GB RAM.

Camera

While the main 50MP sensor is sufficient for casual photography, realme GT 7T does not have a dedicated telephoto lens (compared to the GT 7 and Dream edition), thereby limiting versatility for zoom (or portrait) photography. Not to mention, in our tests, the camera performance, especially in challenging lighting conditions, might struggle slightly.

Who is This For?

Pros:

  • Amazing visuals & gaming performance
  • Great thermal control
  • Comes with IP68/IP69 rating for robust handling
  • 6 years of software (OS) support

Cons:

  • Not the best camera results

For RM1,999, the realme GT 7T is still worth picking up purely for gamers who wants the ultimate gaming experience minus the expensive price tag. Plus, its visuals and speedy performance, topped with its good thermal control makes it a great multimedia phone for entertainment.

Now, we will echo this sentiment again; if you want a secondary multimedia phone or you do not care about having a smartphone to document your entire life (photography, social media apps and whatnots), you are better off picking the GT 7 or GT 7 Dream Edition, both which has a 512GB storage.
