Unlike traditional side-by-side basket air fryers which takes up more space, this model features two vertically stacked basket drawers, designed to maximize your cooking capacity all the while minimizing clutter in your kitchen. The total capacity is 9.5 litres, divided into two 4.75L drawers. You can cook two big or four medium size ingredients simultaneously using the stacked meal racks, making it great for family meal preps.

If you're looking for a reason why you should upgrade, the Double Stack XL's design is the single, biggest defining feature.
Because of its vertical orientation, you take up 30% less counter space than any other side-by-side dual-basket air fryers. Especially to families preparing for Raya open houses, or those who live in smaller apartments and such, the Double Stack XL is truly ideal for tight kitchens.
Despite its "slimmer" built, the air fryer offers a generous capacity, with Ninja claiming it can feed up to 8 people. Each basket drawer can fit and perfectly cook 1.5kg roast chicken. We also like the fact that the basket is small enough to comfortably wash in our small office sink.

Both the frying basket drawers have independent controls. Using the Sync and Match Smart Functions, you can control cooking time precisely. If you use the "Sync" option, both drawers will be optimised to finish cooking at the same time. Use "Match" and the basket drawers will duplicate each other's settings. This makes the air fryer great for party-hosting moments and such.

What We Like
- Design and built
Ninja has always been ready to impress with the quality their products offer. Some cheap and even mid-range price air fryer can be pretty expensive, and feels flimsy to handle. During cooking, I would not like to have to be too careful about getting food in and out of my air fryer.
Thankfully like other Ninja products, this air fryer is just as robust in built. I also like how the air fryer is straightforward to understand. The remote settings and functionalities are neatly displayed. And even if you don't get it right away, the manual it comes with is easy to read, which helps with easy navigation and exploring of such an otherwise advanced appliance (which we know can be overwhelming).
A small detail I liked was that the metal stack racks are designed with side handles, and when placed in the air fryer, they face upwards. The "handles" have these indented groove design which is meant to help you get the rack out easily.
- Consistent Results: Perfect Doneness Always
Worried about ruining your meals? With this air fryer, even beginner chefs need not fret at all.
Ninja DoubleStack comes with an integrated digital cooking probe (thermometer) that takes the guesswork out of cooking. Ninja has engineered the digital cooking probe for real time temperature monitoring, which tracks internal food temperature as it cooks, so you can achieve your desired doneness with precision.
Using it is easy. Just insert the probe into your food (example, a whole chicken), plug it into the port, and once the food reaches the target temperature- it automatically stops cooking.
Moreover, the air fryer comes with more accessories to help you achieve the best cooking results: two stacked metal racks, two crisper plates and a Chef-inspired Recipe Guide you can learn a lot from.
- Easy to clean
Air fryers can be notoriously tedious to clean, especially if stubborn food debris gets caught.
Ninja Double Stack XL is ceramic-coated, and is certified dishwasher-safe to clean, giving you an easy option to deal with cleaning. Adding on to that is that the removable basket drawers and crisper plate are non-stick. Thus, this helps with food residue to clear off quickly.
Of course, do clean your baskets every time you cook in order to maintain the air fryer's cleanliness for a longer time.
In our experience, the fried food debris came off very easily without much effort and with no soaking. This is approximately 45 minutes after food has cooked.
- Does not require preheating
What makes the Ninja DoubleStack XL stand out from many other air fryers is that it does not require preheating. Usually, preheating is crucial for certain recipes, such as a whole chicken, in order to get consistent heat transfer throughout every part of your dish so that it cooks evenly.
Ninja has optimised the DoubleStack XL to heat up evenly. Therefore, preheating is not needed no matter what you cook, so you save time cooking with this air fryer.
What We Dislike
- Price
The bitter pill to swallow is that the Ninja's price tag is a premium, pricing at RM1,439.
But for what you'll pay, rest assured that Ninja's products are always known to be very robust, matching professional-level equipment even, and this air fryer feels the same (we had a cooker from 2021 and it's still serving my family well). With that said, the Double Stack XL is an air fryer that'll last you and your family for years.
