Let's admit it: Who actually updates their "Status" on WhatsApp? It seems like a forgotten corner of the app.

But with some exciting new changes on the way, WhatsApp seems determined to make its Status feature a go-to for daily sharing!

Music, Photo Collages, Stickers

If these new additions sound a bit familiar, you're not wrong! It seems WhatsApp is taking cues from its sister app, Instagram (both are owned by Meta), to make its Status feature more engaging and expressive.

You'll soon have access to a library of music and songs directly within the app. You can add these tunes to your Status to accompany your photos or posts. And if you have multiple photos you'd like to share, there's an option for you to create photo collages combining up to six of your photos into a single, neat collage. Use WhatsApp's built-in editing tools to arrange them just how you like.

Have a funny 'derpy' photo of yourself or your loved ones? You'll be able to turn any of them into a custom sticker and edit them to any size or shape you want before sharing it to your Status.

WhatsApp also announced a new "Add Yours" sticker that lets you choose a picture or prompt and invite your friends to respond on their own Status. For example, you can add a "Add Yours: Your favourite makan spot!" post and those from your contacts can feel free to share their answers.

These new features are going to start rolling out soon and will be available to all users in the coming months.
