Screen & Design

vivo V50 Lite has a 6.38-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. The screen is a standard display that's capable of vibrant colors and deep blacks as expected in today's smartphones. As of the current smartphone trend, the vivo V50 Lite is also in a compact form factor and weighs light at 197g, so it's quite comfortable for one-handed use.
The phone's design is sleek with a matte-metal back finish, and feels premium to the touch yet, more than capable for everyday rough handling. vivo V50 Lite is Military-Grade certified and has gone through harsh drop tests to obtain its 5-star drop rating.
Operation & Battery

Powered by Mediatek Dimensity 6300 chipset and with 8GB RAM (base), vivo V50 Lite is capable of smooth daily multitasking, social media, and general gaming. Your power hungry apps would do alright using this phone. Though it's not considered a pro-level gaming device, vivo V50 Lite is really fine for most average users and even casual gamers that loves their Battle Royale titles.
The available internal storage starts at 265GB, all the way up to 512GB, and is not expandable via microSD, so choose wisely according to your needs.
Now, the star quality of this phone is its humongous BlueVolt 6500mAh battery which delivers MORE THAN a day's worth of battery with mid-high usage patterns. supported by 90W wired charging which can reach from 1% to 50% in 23 min or 100% in 52 min.
The phone also acts as a portable power bank with 6W reverse wired, so you can plug it up to other dying phones.
Camera

On the imaging front, the V50 Lite comes with a dual-camera setup: a 50MP main Sony IMX882 sensor for crisp photos under good lighting, plus an 8MP ultrawide camera. The camera is sufficient for everyday photography and social media sharing. It also comes with vivo's Aura Light that helps to iluminate dark scenes, though it's best for portraitures (faces).

Meanwhile, there's a 32MP front camera to indulge in, which offers sharp selfies and supports video calls with clarity.
AI features are also available for your images, where you can enjoy its AI Erase (to clear unwanted distraction) and AI Photo Enhance (to improve image quality and more).
UI & OS

vivo V50 Lite phone will come with Android 15 and vivo’s Funtouch OS 15 on top. This combination showcases a user-friendly interface with clean customizations like multi-window support and gaming modes.
You might find pre-installed apps and bloatware, which you'll easily be able to uninstall if not needed. Moreover, software and security upgrades will go up to 5 years worth of vivo support.
What we like

Battery
If it's not obvious enough, the biggest thing to enjoy the vivo V50 Lite for is it crazy battery.
Let's dive in further. BlueVolt battery is vivo's flagship-grade battery, and with AI Battery features, the vivo V50 Lite will be hard to drain. Our team conducted some tests on the vivo V50 Lite, in attempt to drain its battery, and we even ran out of ideas to drain it.
When charged to the fullest, we've gotten up to 3 days worth of battery with light-to-mid use.
At 1% battery left, we've managed to enjoy a call, a YouTube video and a few minutes worth of updates to editing documents.
And again, that reverse charging capability. Although not a fast one, it's still great for helping other devices to charge up through critical times. It's also nice to see that vivo promised healthy battery after 1,700 charge cycles as well.

Design & durability
For an entry-level phone, we're happy to see a premium-looking design that does not feel cheap. The phone's durability can take a hit, and doesn't feel flimsy or too much like a toy, which is great for an entry-level phone.
A freebie: At its launch, vivo showcases the V50 Lite's toughness by having media and guests throw the phone in a tossing game. If that says anything, it's vivo's confidence in the V50 Lite.

What we disliked
Camera (For Low-Light)
We must say, vivo V50 Lite actually did better in our books when compared to several other mid-range phones. And they should receive one brownie point for including portrait and AI camera features as well on an entry phone.
But even with Aura Light, the phone is not the best for harsh low-light, and don't even think about professional-grade photography, especially when compared to its X and Pro series. In essence, with bad external light source, images tend to display rough cropping around finer details like hair, which isn't ideal.
Who's this for?
Pros
- High battery life that withstands tests
- Pretty design with good durability
- Decent photography shots
- Great value (price)
Cons
- Camera is not the best for low-light photography
For RM1,199, the vivo V50 Lite is pretty balanced in terms of what it can offer. While there are some quips that leaves more to be desired, but the targeted market for this phone is clear—casual users who just really want a super durable phone that can do decent gaming, photography and most importantly help you stay out for as long without a charge source.
Especially for its battery and decent performance, vivo V50 Lite is a great pick.
