PRISM+ as a brand has been gaining traction especially among budget-concious tech lovers. It has been recognised for their offerings which commonly include latest tech features at a friendly price.
One such item we got to try awhile ago was the PRISM+ X340 Pro Evo, an ultrawide gaming monitor from PRISM+.
This 34-inch monitor boasts a 180Hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time, with a UWQHD (3440 x 1440) resolution and a 21:9 aspect ratio, aiming to provide an immersive gaming and productivity experience; features that are more common in mid-range monitors from RM2,000 onwards.
PRISM+ X340 Pro Evo sells for RM1,739. With that, here's what we think about the X340 Pro Evo.

Built & Design

- Viewing Angle: 178 degrees (horizontal and vertical)
- Curvature: 1000R
- Vesa Mount Support: 100 x 100
- Monitor Stand: Adjustable height, swivel
- Dimensions (with stand): Height 565.7 mm, Width 795.6 mm, Depth 329.2 mm
When placed on the table, the X340 Pro Evo's 34" Curved Ultrawide Display certainly stands out, with a 1000R Curvature design.
First and foremost, this budget monitor's curved screen is designed to wrap around the user's field of vision, essentially heightening the immersive experience in games, achieving a wider panoramic view.
This is great news for gamers and productivity users alike who wants to view more without the hassle of arranging windows, and the deep curve for a more engaging gaming experience.
Coming with several ergonomic adjustments like the tilt-able neck (with height adjustments) and USB port options, the monitor is literally a plug-and-play model for budget gamers especially if they don't want to bother with in-depth customisation yet. Users can also easily find their most comfortable viewing position, charge their gadgets and get on with gaming right away.
Display

- Screen: 34", 3440 x 1440 resolution, HDR400
- Refresh Rate: 180Hz, response time 1ms MPRT
- Colour Gamut: 120% sRGB
- Panel Technology: Vertical Alignment (VA)
- Adpative Sync: Yes
- Eye-Care: Low Blue, Flicker Free
A prominent feature is the monitor's 180Hz Refresh Rate & 1ms Response Time, both designed to deliver smooth and responsive gaming, reducing motion blur and ghosting in fast-paced action. This is also a boon for gamers who are into competitive or time-based games.
X340 Pro Evo also comes with UWQHD Resolution (3440 x 1440) which is meant to offer a step up in detail compared to standard 1080p resolution; a given for ultrawide monitors as this will ensure sharp visuals for both gaming and productivity.
The monitor has Wide Color Gamut (120% sRGB) & HDR400, both features working side-by-side to achieve vibrant and accurate colors with improved contrast and brightness in HDR content. These two are key for sufficient color reproduction for gaming, media consumption, and even some creative work. Hence, the monitor is designed to deliver in such conditions.
Finally, there's Adaptive Sync Support which eliminates screen tearing and stuttering by synchronizing the monitor's refresh rate with the GPU's frame rate, providing a smoother gaming experience.
Additional Features

- Audio: 25W 2.1 channel speakers
- Microphone: 2-array noise cancelling mic
- Ports: HDMI 2.1 (x2), DisplayPort 1.4 (x1), USB-C 3.1, 90W (x1)
- Wireless Charger (Neck base): 15W
PRISM+ is known for offering feature-rich monitors at competitive prices, and the X340 Pro Evo seems to continue this trend with added conveniences like a built-in soundbar, microphone, and wireless charging stand.
The X340 Pro Evo's built-in 2.1 Channel Soundbar (25W) & Microphone acts as convenient additions to remove the necessary need for external speakers and a separate (2-array noise-cancelling) microphone for voice chats—two must-have in today's world where online calls are common.
Thus, most users will appreciate the integrated audio and microphone for a cleaner setup, but audiophiles might still want to invest in dedicated solutions instead.
There's also an integrated 15W Wireless Charging Stand, which is a unique and much-welcomed practical feature where users can charge their Qi-compatible devices directly from the monitor base, reducing desk clutter (especially those of us who dislikes messy wiring).
What We Liked

Definitely the price
For the slew of features it has, especially to delight budget-conscious gamers, PRISM+ X340 Pro Evo ticks a lot of boxes. The monitor offers a lot of conveniences that are not common in the price tag of under RM1,800.
Especially for those who wants an all-in one set up, the X340 Pro Evo is actually a good choice for anyone who doesn't want to go through the hassle of investing in more items. That's because it comes with several built-in accessories to complement users.
We must also say that in this price range, the refresh rate and curvature offered is great in value. If those are your priorities, the monitor is highly recommended.
Additional supporting accessories
Speaking of which, at this price and size (when compared to competitors like MSI MAG342CQR and Xiaomi Mi 34"), X340 Pro Evo comes with a few outstanding features that the others don't — the built-in speakers, built-in microphone, wireless charging stand and even a USB-c (90W) charger port, which isn't available in the other competitors.
Although the display panel might not be preferred on the PRISM+ as compared to competitors like MSI, or it's not as cheap as Xiaomi's, the combination of additional features makes the PRISM+ X340 Pro Evo different and worth considering.
What We Disliked

Display (Colours)
To us, the VA panel has good contrast and colours, but it can look a little too agressive, similar to how you'd see overly-agressive HDR content.
One might see minor black smearing in very fast-paced dark scenes, therefore the monitor misses the mark in displaying fast but clear details in the game. This is however not a big deal-breaker as it affects mainly fast-paced games; other adventure or casual games would do alright.
Moreover, some media friends have shared their displeasure for the agressive curve, as it can affect the look of straight lines on the panel. However, this affects more for productivity work and in certain situations when lines are needed to be viewed constantly. This a niche problem should someone want the X340 Pro Evo for gaming.
Who is this for?
Pros
- Good mix of features from USBC 90W port to wireless charging—features that competitors don't have
- Has health features such as ergonomic neck and eye-care tech
- Comes with built-in speakers and microphone
- Good curve and refresh rates
Cons
- Doesn't work with standard monitor arms
Overall, PRISM+ X340 Pro Evo may not be known for having the best balanced display panel, but we don't think that was the goal of PRISM+. Rather, the brand have always aimed to offer products with sufficient popular features at competitive pricing, across products of different categories. And, we can clearly see it with this monitor.
The X340 Pro Evo's list of features is a niche blend of gaming performance (180Hz, 1ms), immersive visuals (1000R curve), and convenient features (built-in soundbar, microphone, wireless charging, USB-C with PD) at a price point that rivals other well-known brands. All in all, it'll depend on what the user wants. If anything, the monitor is best for gamers and casual multimedia use rather than for productivity purposes.
