So it seems we really are getting AI updates to our Samsung Galaxy wearables. In the coming months, the Galaxy Watch and Buds will be welcoming the introduction of Google's Gemini AI.

This update promises to bring enhanced AI functionalities to Samsung gadgets on your wrist and ears, streamlining daily routines and boosting productivity. For Malaysians who are always on the go and value efficiency, this is a game-changer.

Gemini on Galaxy Watch — Voice-Driven Productivity on the Go

With Gemini embedded into Galaxy Watches, users can get tasks done quickly and naturally using voice. Most of the updates are focused on a hands-free experience to carry out certain tasks and notification checking.

You can soon use Gemini as below:

  • Use Gemini to remember gym locker numbers, set reminders, or summarize emails with just a voice command.
  • Example: Say “Remember I’m using locker 43 today” while running on the treadmill.
  • Receive voice summaries of emails while your hands are full (e.g. grocery bags).
  • Gemini syncs across apps — giving quick, glanceable insights without breaking your routine.

Gemini + Galaxy Buds = Effortless Smart Assistant Access

When paired with Galaxy Buds3, activating Gemini becomes faster and even more intuitive. Similar to Galaxy Watch features, the upcoming Gemini feature will provide a more intuitive, hands-free experience without needing users to fish out for controls on their phones.

The upcoming features are as of below:

  • Launch Gemini using voice or simple gestures like pinch and hold on the Buds.
  • Ask, “What’s the weather for my run today?” as you're putting on your shoes — no need to reach for your phone.

It's clear that the new features are set to allow users to activate tasks without needing to touch the Galaxy Watch's screen or minimise phone interaction.

Samsung's aims are to provide a cross-device experience that connects Buds, Watch, and Phone, all without requiring hardware updates for a fresh experience. This update is also flowing nicely in line with extended Malay and English language support expected as part of Google’s regional language rollout.
