AMD has officially launched the EPYC 4005 Series, a new lineup of enterprise-class processors targeting small and medium businesses (SMBs), dedicated hosters, and entry-level cloud workloads.

Designed for performance, efficiency, and affordability, these new CPUs leverage on Zen 5 architecture together with AI advances and the existing AM5 socket, making them easy to deploy and integrate into current systems.

Built for Right-Sized Performance in Entry-Level Servers

The AMD EPYC 4005 Series is optimized for growing businesses that need solid compute power but without enterprise-grade costs or complexity.

The series is  powered by Zen 5 architecture, shared across AMD’s top-end platforms. It supports AM5 socket, the same as the EPYC 4004 Series, ensuring easy upgrades and compatibility

Available in form factors suited for 1U/2U servers, blades, and towers, the series have proved its numbers via benchmark testing (Phoronix suite), which showcased the flagship EPYC 4565P delivering 1.83x performance over Intel’s 6th Gen Xeon 6300P.

Derek Dicker, corporate vice president, Enterprise and HPC Business Group, AMD, said “With the latest AMD EPYC 4005 Series CPUs, we are delivering the right balance of performance, simplicity, and affordability, giving our customers and system partners the ability to deploy enterprise-class solutions that solve everyday business challenges.”

AMD’s new server CPUs pack serious performance at competitive pricing — key for businesses balancing budget and power needs.

Efficiency and Ecosystem Compatibility

Designed for always-on services, cloud hosting, and virtualized environments, these CPUs also support DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0, ensuring futureproof connectivity.

They are made to work with leading server OEMs and are supported by leading partners and customers including Altos, ASRock Rack, Gigabyte, Lenovo, MiTAC, MSI, New Egg, OVHcloud, Supermicro and Vultr.
