2025 is the year that Gemini by Google comes ready on new smartphone releases. The market is saturated with increasing numbers of wearable tech consumers as well as smart electric cars, thus it's given that Gemini would come to these popular consumer products sooner or later this year.
...And that is officially confirmed by Google in a recent post that shared remarks by Google CEO Sundar Pinchai:
"We’re upgrading Google Assistant on mobile devices to Gemini, and later this year we’ll upgrade tablets, cars and devices that connect to your phone, such as headphones and watches."
The first mention of Gemini in relations to Wear OS (smartphones etc) and Android Auto (cars) was raised in articles by AndroidAuthority in their deep-dive of Android beta APK files. It was speculated that Gemini might replace Google Assistant in Android watches and cars.
In the same post which might be of interest, it's shared that Google is rolling out AI Overviews which are capable of more advanced reasoning, thinking and multimodal capabilities to help with rhetoric questions that require more exploration. This new AI Mode query will provide answers twice as long as traditional Search queries.
