2022 was the year when OpenAI’s ChatGPT disrupted the workforce worldwide. Designed to learn and think like humans, the generative AI chatbot could come up with articles on a prompted topic, serve as a consultant for your late night business dilemmas and solve mathematical equations. Made available as a professional consumer-level service, ChatGPT was seen as a “replacement” to human labour, here to take over our jobs…or so we thought.
Fast forward to 2024, most of us have come to embrace AI for its true intended purpose: a productivity tool for humans. With the right prompts, one could ask ChatGPT to complete their redundant tasks such as creating itineraries and frameworks.

Aside from corporate and creative workplaces, AI has also proven its relevance in our daily lives, given its advanced capabilities to perform in various industries ranging from healthcare and automotive to entertainment and tech. They’re part of our everyday items now, and they’re here to change our lives.

AI Will Be More Prominent at Your Workplace
As we become more open to capitalising on AI tools for their vast wealth in resource information, we can expect more new startups and businesses to mushroom. Individuals may become braver in venturing and marketing their own business idea, as they can now gather resources easily with generative AI.

Moreover, generative AI is able to craft email drafts, simulate ideation discussion and even summarise documents (with Samsung Galaxy AI’s Note Assist); these bode for workplaces to run more efficiently (and quickly too).
With those in mind, we can expect to see enhanced cybersecurity measures implemented in and out of the workplace. Since generative AI is quite accessible to the public, we should beware of more elaborative, sophisticated threats and scams on the rise.
Your Health Guru is Partially AI
Both consumer and hospital grade electronics will continue to leverage AI to run more acute diagnostics and provide improved personalisation in patient medical recovery as well as aid in administrative matters. Adoption of smartwatches will be more prevalent among wider age groups, evident with the presence of Galaxy Watch Ultra which can provide a fitness and diet regime simply by assessing your approved data, as well as sleep patterns based on your vitals.

The danger here is when generative AI perceives a prompt or conducts assessments incorrectly. Its suggestions may go haywired and affect a patient's analysis, especially to individuals suffering from acute diagnosis. Therefore, professional intervention (and some self-studying) will do wonders to provide a smoother AI journey. Brand trust must also be taken seriously if you want to safely harness AI wellness.
More AI and Virtual Reality on Social Media
With ChatGPT’s linguistic prowess as a text-to-text model, a possible trend we can expect is quicker organisation and dissemination of information from media to the public. Today, AI has granted smart devices the ability to jot down accurate voice-enabled note-taking regardless of accent, conduct faster research (like Circle to Search with Google), craft elaborated written pieces and enhance translations during calls and livestreams. Thus, transforming ideas into reality becomes quicker.

More gaming software and equipment will also be designed around generative AI. We’re starting to see bigger developments among reality headsets such as PICO and Meta. FYI Samsung also just revealed their very own eXtended reality (XR) headset (pictured above).
Information on social media will be more accessible between borders, regardless of a user’s language preference. Not only that, the pool of content creators will continue to grow, thanks to accessibility of tools like DALL:E (a text-to-image model) and Stable Diffusion (text-to-video model) becoming the bedrock for content creation.

With that, we might see more bogus visual content online, risking the promotion of smear campaigns and such. Therefore, it helps to double check on what you’re forwarding to others via Instant Messaging.
More AI-Centered Smartphones
While there’s a lot of talk on AI features in this article, the smartphone industry is where we will likely see the number of consumer-level AI users grow. Smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S24 series have pivoted the industry with AI-powered gadgets for the masses.

The idea of smartphones replacing desktop computers was unclear decades ago, but today it is becoming a reality. With the Galaxy S24 series’s AI features, users could do quicker note-taking, transcribe a research paper, do live translations during a call and take uninterrupted screenshots from videos. This is all possible thanks to Samsung's Galaxy AI that’s fortified with the brand’s proprietary large language model (LLM) technology, setting them ahead of the competition in many fields, including cybersecurity.

Even though several smartphone brands are starting to follow suit and manufacture AI-powered products, Samsung is likely to continue to lead and dominate the AI consumer-level field given their extensive portfolio that extends to household and health categories. As always, there will be more to expect in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 series, slated to release in Q1 2025, with improvements as well as AI and cybersecurity additions.
