We've come to another year where we see new upgrades in Samsung's Galaxy Tab annual affair. For 2024, Samsung released the Galaxy Tab S10+. Compared to the Galaxy Tab S9+, the Tab S10+ has a slightly lighter profile, better battery performance and a nicer screen.
Other deets you would be interested to know is that the Galaxy Tab S10+ also has 7 years of software updates to expect, compared to Galaxy Tab S9 and Tab S8 series with 4 years of updates.
Besides the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ having a MediaTek chipset (compared to Tab S9+'s Snapdragon), it costs an eyewatering firgure of RM4,499.
Still, with its slew of convenient AI software (especially for note taking), this device is slated to be a go-to for both productivity and entertainment. Although the difference between the Tab S9+ vs Tab S10+ is minimal, those who wants to get a new tab and have no issue with budget should really go for the Tab S10+.
Let's dive deeper below into our experience with the tablet.

Design & Build
If the Galaxy Tab S10+ looks similar to you, it is because the design is almost identical to the Tab S9+. You have the typical magnetic strip to hold your S Pen besides the camera, home menu looks the same, and that the finish is also metal. Even their sizes are the same, both measuring 11.24 inches (h) x 7.3 inches (w).
Some subtle difference to the Tab S10+ is its tempered glass screen vs the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the Tab S10+. Moreover, Tab S10+ is 0.01mm slimmer than Tab S9+, which makes Tab S10+ weigh slightly less at 571g (vs S9+ at 581g). Crazy and fascinating at the same time.
Like the Tab S9+, the S10+ also has P68-rated water and dust resistance, which isn’t common among tablets. Malaysians will love it for the local unpredictable weather.
Tab S10+ comes in metallic silver and gray options, exuding a sleek, premium feel overall.
Display
Also found on the Galaxy Tab S9+, the Galaxy Tab S10+ has the same dynamic AMOLED panel with HDR10+ support. Spanning 12.4-inch, the Dynamic AMOLED 2X display offers vibrant colors and sharp resolution at 2800 x 1752 pixels. Its screen also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, providing smooth scrolling and gaming. Meanwhile, the HDR10+ support enhances the visuals and clarity for movies and videos.
Do Galaxy Tab S9+ and S10+ look the same visually? Yes. But the feeling?
In our experience, writing with the same S Pen on both tablets were actually subtly different. Using the S Pen (that came with the Galaxy Tab S9 series) actually felt nicer, smoother perhaps, to write on the Tab S10+. Moreover, feedback of the Tab S10+ screen feels more receptive to pull up the home screen menu than on the Tab S9 series. Safe to say that we like the Tab S10+ better than the S9+ on this aspect.
PS: The S Pen, which is useful for quickly accessing productivity tools, is included in every order unit of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+.
Performance & Battery
Unlike the Tab S9+ that comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the Galaxy Tab S10+ has a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ Chipset. While there are online discourses that claims the Snapdragon chip feel superior, the day-to-day life experience we have with the MediaTeck chipset feels no different than the Snapdragon. Multi-tasking on the Tab S10+ is also really nice.
Our review unit came with 12GB of RAM, which handles multitasking smoothly. One can also lookforward to the chipset's 5G connectivity support, which means future-proofed for the fastest networks in Malaysia.
And of course, with the Galaxy Tab S10+'s huge 10,090 mAh battery, moderate usage (includes document annotation, YouTube/Netflix and some light gaming on Ragnarok Origin Global) granted us a couple of day's worth.
Moreover, you can enjoy 45W fast charging with this tablet, which takes about half an hour from 1% to 50%. With a battery size this big, we're not surprised that wireless charging was omitted.
Camera & Audio
Don't expect the cameras on the Galaxy Tab S10+ to move mountains. At this price, the front and back cameras are good enough to record some casual moments, scan documents and for video calling which will be clear enough.
Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab S10+ has dual rear cameras (13 MP main + 8 MP ultrawide). Meanwhile, although the 12 MP Front Camera is capable of 4K video recording, the tablet's size means you won't likely get much use for videography. We do imagine this is still good for video call presentations.
For audio support, you can enjoythe tablet's Dolby Atmos Quad Speaker set up, which delivers immersive sound, and sounds great for Netflix.
Do take note that there's no headphone jack, as expected.
Galaxy AI & Keyboard
Here's where the Galaxy Tab S10+ shines. In our books, the Tab S10+ feels great for note-taking and documentation. Should you activate Google's Gemini, you get to enjoy extended AI convenience into internet browsing such as summarizing online articles and faster note-grabbing.
However, in Malaysia, we only have Bixby, which is just an extended search engine so far.
Annotating on tablets versus on computer is very different; doing it on a tablet is much faster as well as intuitive. For me as a Masters student, annotating research papers are a must, and can be very tiring even on tablet. However, just like the Tab S9 series, the Tab S10+ also makes it easy, and actually more fun, to do note taking.
Example, I love using the Galaxy AI feature to summarise an entire research article. You can also format the summary into a list or so. You can even do note-taking (and optimise the window opacity) during video playbacks, or perform circle to search. Even for note-taking; there's the auto-line adjsutment if you don't write in a straight line.
Moreover, it's worth considering the accompanying the Book Cover Keyboard (with a dedicated AI Key) for the Galaxy Tab S10+.
With it, documentation work is certainly fast and comfortable. Whether you're a student or even an office worker on the go, the keyboard's feedback is also nice to type on, and feels solid to use in the long run. The keys feel even nicer than my Macbook's Butterfly keyboard.
Verdict - Pricing & Value
At RM4,499, the price for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ isn’t cheap at all. But, it's a high-performing device that's worthy of attention, especially for productivity purposes, given its built and display quality, software support as well as AI interface. On the current market, there's not many tablets to consider. But if you want a tough player, this one's it.
Something to note; the keyboard is sold separately, which can play a big role for productivity.
