AEON Bank is the first Islamic digital bank in Malaysia and the second one that has been launched as a digital bank. Like GXBank, this online bank provides clients with no-charge debit cards and attractive deposit rates.

In order to start using AEON Bank, you need to have another bank account with a traditional bank. The bank requires that the new account be activated by having a minimum deposit of RM20 put into it, which can serve to uphold your account; this money is non-negotiable. Within a span of three months from when you opened it, if you decide to close the AEON Bank Account (ABA), the application will retain RM20 for processing purposes.

The digital bank also can now support DuitNow transfers and DuitNow QR payments. Conveniently, the application allows its users to save things in different pots, where you can also automatically add money to these pots or round up purchases. If you choose either a savings account-i or the savings pot where your money is kept, it makes possible for 3.88% of your annual gross profit to be realised through monthly deposits made into such accounts. However, this rate is still under its launch campaign, making it unclear whether the rate will change after the campaign ceases.

In reference to the launch campaign, whoever signs up with the AEON Bank from today to August 31st, 2024, will receive 3,000 AEON points. Furthermore, it comes with a free Visa debit card whose reward is three AEON points for every RM1 spent, allowing you to cash in the points. However, you will need to pay the RM1 MEPS fee each time you withdraw money from an ATM using this card.

Extra benefits during the initial campaign take account of the fact that you will not be charged the first year’s membership fee in its point scheme. If you are already a member, your account will be linked automatically to AEON Bank. Aeon Bank does not have any physical outlets because it is a digital bank, so you will have to sign up on the app, which is available on both the App Store and Google PlayStore.
