However, as opposed to last year's curved edges, the transition to flat sides marks a subtle evolution, contributing to a more robust hand feel. The matte finish also adds a layer of sophistication and improves grip, making the device a pleasure to hold.
Additionally, this is the year when Samsung took a significant step forward in eco-conscious manufacturing with the S24+ by incorporating recycled materials into the phone's construction – The use of recycled steel and Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) reflects Samsung's commitment to reducing its environmental footprint without compromising on quality or durability.
One difference compared to last year’s Galaxy S23+ is the display. The display is where the S24+ truly shines, boasting an upgraded QHD screen that leaps beyond the previous model's FHD offering.
This enhancement in pixel resolution transforms the viewing experience, delivering unparalleled clarity, vivid colours, and exceptional brightness, peaking at 2600 nits for optimal outdoor visibility. Performance & Battery
At the centre of the Galaxy S24+ is the Exynos 2200 chipset. Just like the base model, this allows the phone to handle more complex tasks, such as the newly integrated Galaxy AI. The efficiency and speed at which the S24+ handles different AI tasks showcase the device's excellent processing capabilities.
The phone also had a significant memory boost, moving from 8GB to 12GB, allowing for smoother multitasking and enhanced overall performance.
On the other hand, while performance on games such as Genshin Impact may not reach the heights of the Galaxy S24 Ultra variant, the S24+ still delivers a satisfying experience, with decent graphics and minimal lag on the game’s medium settings.
This balance makes the Galaxy S24+ an appealing option for users seeking a high-performance device for daily usage without the need for ultra-high gaming specifications.
Battery life also saw a slight improvement over its predecessor and was able to last just over a day on extensive usage and a single full charge. If you were someone with minimal usage, you could definitely use this phone for two days at the very least.
Camera
The camera setup on the S24+ remains consistent with the previous model, ensuring the continuation of Samsung's high photographic standards. As with older Galaxy S Plus models, the selfie camera still impressed us with its detailed capture. If you really like those front cam shots, then this phone offers you a superior self-portrait experience.
So what’s new if the camera specs remained the same? Well, it’s probably the integration of Galaxy AI into the camera system.
