Those who have been following the foldable smartphone scene closely know how the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold & Flip series has set the pace in the industry. Aside from sleek and compact designs like the previous Galaxy Z Fold4, you get to enjoy more customization options and better, more powerful performance.
Here are the differences between the Galaxy Z Fold5 and the Galaxy Z Fold4.

Processor (Upgraded)
Like the Galaxy Z Flip5, the Galaxy Z Fold5 has the same robust Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which means better graphics and smoother gameplay. Better optimisation of the battery and a more smooth day-to-day operation of the phone is also expected to be better than the Galaxy Z Fold5, no doubt.
Camera (Maintained)
Sorry photography enthusiasts, you won't see any changes here this time. Like the Galaxy Z Fold4, the Z Fold5 will spot the already more-than-sufficient camera set consisting of a 10MP Selfie Camera + 4MP Under Display Camera at the front, and a rear triple camera setup that utilises a 12MP Ultra Wide, 50MP Wide-Angled and 10MP Telephoto lens.
Still, this set-up is great for most serious photographers to play with and enjoy their capabilities.
Main Screen (Modified)
The Galaxy Z Fold5's screen saw minor upgrades compared to the Galaxy Z Fold4. While screen size remained at 7.6-inch with the same AMOLED 2X screen and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, the foldable screen type has been redesigned to an Infinity Flex Display to allow for a fuller viewing experience.
Like the Galaxy Z Flip5, the Z Fold5 will also have the same upgraded Flex Hinge which leaves an almost sealed gap when closed, compared with the Galaxy Z Fold4.
Cover Screen (Maintained)
While the Galaxy Z Flip5 has some big improvements to its cover screen (bigger screen + more features including texting), alas the Galaxy Z Fold5 won't be having too many big upgrades when compared to the Galaxy Z Fold4. You will be seeing the same 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display as well as 120Hz refresh rate.
A small upgrade? The cover screen is now HDR.
Battery (Maintained)
And just like the Galaxy Z Flip5 vs Z Flip4 showdown, the Galaxy Z Fold5 also sees the same battery capacity as the Galaxy Z Fold4, which is a 4,400mAh (typical) dual battery that lasts a day in our previous Z Flip4 tests. We might see slight improvements due to the upgraded Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset which plays a big factor in better battery optimisation.
