Microsoft Announces NEW AI-Powered Bing Search Engine

Ask, and you shall be answered (by an intangible being).

Following the recent trend towards artificial intelligence (AI)-focused Chatbots and search engines, Microsoft recently introduced an update to their Bing search engine by incorporating AI powered by the latest OpenAI technology, which is superior to the currently popular ChatGPT.

Unifying search, browsing, and conversation, Bing will now enhance your search experience, provide more thorough answers, introduce a new chat interface, and allow you to create your own content. Microsoft also said that this version of OpenAI’s ChatGPT in the Bing search engine is faster, more accurate and customized specifically for search, using GPT-3.5.

So how can this AI-powered search engine serve you and what can you expect from it?

The new Bing provides a better search experience by returning more accurate results for common queries like sports scores, stock prices, and the weather, with additional information displayed in a sidebar. Bing will also include a link to the original source at the end of any information or sharing it finds.

The new Bing will also provide an interactive chat experience for more in-depth queries, allowing you to search for specific information until you find exactly what you're looking for. Different from ChatGPT, Bing's chatbot will also provide links to relevant resources so you can take immediate action on your findings, whether you're creating a detailed travel itinerary or researching the best TV to buy!

Along with the introduction of OpenAI to Bing, Microsoft also introduced the integration of OpenAI artificial intelligence on the Microsoft Edge web browser. Now, a sidebar is provided in the browser that allows you to research various topics while browsing the web and facilitating a number of tasks, including writing a LinkedIn posting, summarizing something, and so on.

Anyone interested in trying out some sample queries and getting on the waitlist for the brand-new Bing can do so right now by visiting Bing.com. In the coming weeks, Microsoft will expand the preview to millions so stay tuned!
