Recently, there are circulating rumours about the potential 'AirPods Lite' that Apple are currently working on. According to Jeff Pu of Haitong Intl Tech Research, the analyst claimed that the new Airpods Lite will appeal to a more niche market to compete with other low-cost wireless earbuds.
The 2019 entry-level model of Apple's 2nd-gen AirPods costs RM629, but the price tag did not please everyone, especially when there are other alternatives available for under RM500. Presumably, this 'Lite' version of the AirPods will cost less than RM500. Despite its widespread acclaim, industry insider Jeff Pu claims that the product's popularity will inevitably decline sometime in the not-too-distant future. In particular, the number of AirPods shipped is predicted to decline in 2023.
If the rumours are true, we can expect a lot of good from Apple in the future. Perhaps there could be cheaper alternatives to other Apple products as well? Who knows. For all we know, the specifications for the rumoured 'AirPods Lite' are not yet known apart from its relatively lower price.
