Concert season is coming around, and we’ve been seeing an influx of artists holding concerts in Malaysia after a two-year hiatus thanks to the pandemic.
We love our concerts, and we love our fancams even more — so when I managed to get tickets to Super Junior’s Super Show 9 in KL, I decided to bring along my Galaxy Z Flip4 and test it out there too.

Low Light Photos
Most concerts are held in the evenings, and venues are most often than not dark, so that everyone can see the artist in the center of the spotlight. SS9 was no different. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 managed to capture the Blue Ocean quite well despite that, though.
I loved how this photo of my Suju fanlight came out. This was when everyone’s fanlight synced up with the venue; it was so impressive that I had to take a photo, and the Galaxy Z Flip4 did not disappoint.
Selfies (Whoops, Face Reveal)
What better way to prove your attendance than a selfie? You probably already know that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 can take selfies in many different ways (I’ve certainly written enough about it), so it’s perfect for this purpose.
Thanks to the Galaxy Z Flip4’s unique form factor, I can place it anywhere and take selfies hands-free, which came in very useful in the concert especially since I had to juggle my lightstick and banners in both hands.
And as you may have noticed, this selfie was taken with the cover screen, completely hands-free. And yes, I balanced the phone on the railing. It looks scary, yes, but the phone was at no risk of falling into the void below, as unlike a conventional smartphone, it can stay on the railing as it’s supported with both the front and back panels.
It may look small up here, but you can actually set the aspect ratios and size of your selfie even using the Cover Screen. Here’s the full picture:
Getting Up Close to The Stage
I was lucky enough to get a seat in the first row of my section, so I was relatively close to one of the sides of the stage — but still pretty far from the main stage, unfortunately.
Not to worry though; the Galaxy Z Flip4 can zoom up to 10x, so I was able to get up close with my oppas. The quality of the videos and images may not be top-notch, but one thing I was pretty impressed with how steady the videos were, despite zooming in close.
Again, the form factor helped, as I was able to hold the Galaxy Z Flip4 like a camcorder, which is less strain on my hands and less likely to be dropped if I get too excited. As any fan would know, steady fancams are rare, and I managed to get some of those with the help of the Galaxy Z Flip4.
We’ve written about how the Galaxy Z Flip4 is a great phone for content creators, but that goes for those who just want to shoot photos and videos for their own personal use as well! Besides the photography capabilities, it also has the added benefit of being small and compact, allowing for more backpack space for supplies: hello, concert freebies!
