Samsung's One UI 4.1.1 — Made For Larger Screens (feat. Galaxy Z Fold4)

Better integrated updates for all!

In its fourth generation, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 comes out-of-the-box with the One UI 4.1.1 based on Android 12L. It's also one of the first smartphones to run with Android 12L, a special version of Android created by Google for large-screen experiences.

With the One UI 4.1.1 based on Android 12L, multitasking is easier and smoother than ever on the Galaxy Z Fold4. The software enables new “Labs” features for multi-window fans, where users can now swipe the corner of an app inward to enable Pop-Up View. They can also use two fingers to swipe from the edges of the screen, enabling multi-window mode on the go.

Aside from that, other cool features in the One UI 4.1.1 include new wallpapers, a taskbar offering a desktop-like experience, and a “View Details” button in “Battery and Device Care” for faster access to battery usage information.

Plus, One UI 4.1.1 also comes with fresh, new wallpapers and a slightly redesigned UI! The One UI 4.1.1 uses some elements from the One UI 5.0 beta firmware, such as an improved Bixby Vision integration with Samsung Keyboard, Camera, and Gallery.

Speaking of One UI 5.0, Samsung also recently released the new One UI 5.0 beta program to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4. Based on Android 13, the new update includes features like lock screen customisation, more wallpapers, and watermark features for the camera.

While the new 5.0 UI isn't as foldable-specific as the One UI 4.1.1, it's still possible that Samsung will be adding more features to the new software soon. The final release of the new One UI 5.0 is slated for the Galaxy Z Fold4 by the end of 2022!
