Hear ye, Apple Pay is finally here in Malaysia!
Apple's own payment service is now available to use in Malaysia, allowing you to replace your physical credit or debit cards with something faster, easier, and more secure. This means that you can now access the millions of apps and websites that support it, giving you an easier time managing your finance, and ease of mind knowing that it's secure.
You can use Apple Pay through either your iPhone or Apple Watch with a simple tap, and your iOS device will send a notification to let you know your purchase has gone through. You can even check your previous transactions through the Wallet app!
Umar, one of our video editors, tried out the feature himself!
As you can see, he had a bit of a hiccup trying to pay with the Apple Watch, but the service worked perfectly on the iPhone.
How To Set Up Apple Pay
You can activate Apple Pay through the Wallet app on your iPhone by adding your credit or debit cards. If you want to use any other Apple device with Apple Pay, you need to add your cards to the device as well. Once added, you can use Apple Pay right away by holding your device near a payment terminal!
As of now, Apple Pay is only available with three participating banks: Ambank, Maybank, and Standard Chartered Bank. The service is currently accepted by grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, coffee shops, retail shops, and more.
