Xiaomi has launched its brand-new Mi 9T smartphone today in Malaysia. Many online rumours have been speculating that this phone is targeted to rebrand the Redmi K20 model series which was launched in China around May 2019.
Ahead of the launch, there were leaks about the Xiaomi Mi 9T, which many have turned out to be true. The Mi 9T is powered with the world’s first best-in-class Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chip which outperforms many smartphones from the previous generation.
It also utilises an Octa-core Kryo 470 chip processor based on the 8nm process for extreme power efficiency. Moreover, there’s a 4th generation AI smart engine to deliver incredible AI performance.
This time, Mi 9T is built with a 6.39-inch AMOLED full-screen display and a unique curved glass back with a flame design that’s produced by a nano-holographic technology. The Mi 9T is also built with In-Screen fingerprint technology, which is now faster than previous generations.

Mi 9T also now offers a triple camera setup. That consists of a 48MP rear camera (48MP + 13MP + 8MP) and a 20MP pop-up front camera to deliver an SLR-like photography experience.
Product availability
The Xiaomi Mi 9T will be available in three different colour versions: Carbon Black, Glacier Blue and Flame Red. According to Xiaomi, Mi 9T will come in two different specification models (64GB and 128GB). Starting from 25th June 2019, the 6GB+64GB version will be retailing for RM 1,199 and exclusively on Lazada.
As part of an exclusive online deal with Lazada, customers who pre-book their devices from 20th June to 24th June will be entitled to purchase the Mi 9T at only RM 1,099 as an early bird offer. Meanwhile, the 6GB+128GB version will only be available on 29th June onwards for RM 1,399, exclusively only at Mi retail stores.
